On Wednesday, April 29, the U.S. Supreme Court rendered Section 2 of the federal Voting Rights Act (VRA) effectively useless, disregarding years of precedent and weakening one of the last remaining protections against racial discrimination in elections.

With federal protections weakened yet again, now is the time for Delaware to step up and safeguard the voting rights of all its residents, especially communities of color. That’s why we need you to send a message to the Delaware General Assembly urging them to commit to introducing and supporting a Delaware Voting Rights Act immediately.

With federal protections weakened yet again, now is the time for Delaware to step up and safeguard voting rights.

VICTORY! Yesterday, the Delaware House of Representatives took a significant step toward expanding access to the ballot for Delaware voters! 🗳️ 🎉
No eligible voter should miss the chance to participate in our democracy simply because they are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day. Senate Bill 2 and Senate Bill 3 allow Delaware voters to decide what method of casting their ballot — early, absentee, or on Election Day — best suits their needs.

Thank you to members of the WMS Legislative and Advocacy Committee for the work on this effort!
