Women who have gone through Little Ripples Teacher Training report that, for the first time through the training, they learned how teachers are also leaders. Little Ripples Training is a powerful opportunity for women to step up in leadership roles and influence the next generation. They are peacebuilders, caregivers, and community pillars who foster empathy, curiosity, and resilience. They show that when communities are resourced to lead their own programs, sustainable transformation follows.

Trainings provide leadership skills as well a play-based learning, child rights, and trauma-informed care; and are led by veteran Little Ripples team members whenever possible.

We know Manhattan Beach, California is a bit of a trip if you're not local, but that doesn't mean you have to sit out of impACT26. Here are 3 ideas for you!

3. If a ticket or an auction bid isn't quite the move for you this year, you can always make a direct gift

However you choose to show up, near or far; ticket, bid, or gift; you're making a real difference for kids who need it. Every gift helps give refugee boys and girls in Chad, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and along the US/Mexico border a safe space to learn, play, and just be kids.

Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. iACT believes in a relationships-first, community-led approach to humanitarian action. We train through relationships of trust, and as much as possible we have experienced community members lead trainings for new trainees. These trained leaders then go on to form powerful relationships with children and youth–providing safe, caring teachers and mentors. The cycle of training and power stays within the community and this is how we see lasting, powerful transformation!

As part of efforts to enhance the skills of soccer coaches in the Central African Republic, the Central African Football Federation organized a training course for coaches aiming to obtain the CAF C-License. Bangui United Soccer Academy (BUSA) was proudly represented at this event by coach Kamegba Thomson Placide, who participated in this important training session.

The course took place at the Kaimba Blasco Technical Center in Gbaguma from August 18 to September 5, 2026. It represented a major opportunity for Central African football coaches to deepen their knowledge, improve their training methods, and further contribute to the development of grassroots football.

Bangui United Soccer Academy is committed to the continuous training of its technical staff and the development of young talent. We were proud to have Kamegba Thomson Placide participate!

In June, 629 kids across eight different camps graduated from Little Ripples, (That's 629 graduation days, caps, gowns, and all, made possible in part by people who showed up for impACT last year!) Right now, our teams are on the ground getting the next class of students registered for the 2026-27 school year.

Join us at impACT26 to help this next class of Little Ripples graduate, better equipped with mindfulness, social skills, formal education and joy!

This World Teachers' Day, iACT celebrates the hundreds of refugee and conflict-affected men and women who lead early childhood and youth education programs in their communities. Through a trauma-informed, community-led model, these educators do far more than teach foundational skills:
💛 They cultivate mindfulness, emotional safety, and social cohesion.
💚 They restore routine and joy for children affected by displacement.
💙They model community agency and shift traditional power dynamics in humanitarian response.

When we resource local educators, we invest in the immediate well-being of children and the long-term future of entire communities.

We were honored to co-present alongside our partner Alight at the InterAction Forum in Washington, DC, today!
Our Senior Manager for Global Programs and Partnerships, Sedrick Murhula, was there to share how iACT approaches community-led humanitarian action, the process, the barriers, and the “why.”

Because lasting impact isn't brought to communities, it is created with and by them.

iACT integrates mindfulness exercises into each of our programs. Mindfulness helps individuals learn how to cope with stress, strengthen self-regulation skills, and build resilience.

A key aspect of our Little Ripples curriculum is the introduction of mindfulness, so even young refugee children may find refuge from the instability of camp life and internal peace in the present moment. The curriculum includes a variety of modules that set the foundation for and integrate mindfulness activities into the daily schedule. Children carry this foundation of inner peace as they grow and eventually lead others.
