It’s been a wet and dreary day today, but thankfully the rain has been coming down nicely — no major downpours or storms. According to the radar, it looks like we’re almost done. I ended up with just a little over an inch in my rain gauge.

Anyone else keeping track? What did your rain gauge show?

We’ve already had several people asking about the Boat Parades, so mark your calendars!

** Long Lake Boat Parade will take place on July 4th at 8:00 PM, beginning across from Kimball Camp.

** Hemlock Lake 4th of July festivities are as follows:

The 5th Annual Boat Parade will be held on July 3rd at 8:00 PM. Meet up on Hemlock Lake and celebrate together on the water!

Then on July 4th from 1:00–4:00 PM, join them for the 2nd Annual Live Band at the Sandbar.

As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, let’s make this a memorable celebration on the lake. We can’t wait to see everyone out there!

Today is Flag Day! 🇺🇸 Fly them proudly! 🇺🇸

Flag Day is a holiday celebrated on June 14 in the United States. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

UPDATE: I haven’t seen or heard of any severe damage in our immediate area. I did hear surrounding areas have some downed trees and power lines.

Heads up, we are currently under a tornado watch. There is a pretty strong front heading this way and should be here around 11 pm.

THIS IS A DIFFERENT DOG FROM THE OTHER DAY

I had someone contact me about an off-white lab/pit mix dog running down Long Lake Road. They were unable to stop to get it. It was seen near Camp Selah. If this is your dog or know whose dog it is, please contact them or come get it before it gets hit.

FYI: A skier hit something in Hemlock Lake near the mouth of the Northwest Cove. They were well over 100 feet from shore when they heard a loud thud and felt the impact. We went back to investigate but were unable to find anything in the water.

Thankfully, no one was injured, but the ski did sustain some damage. The incident occurred just as they entered the cove, near the last house before the cove begins.

Please use caution in that area.

UPDATE: I love happy endings!! She is back home with her family that was really missing her!

Do you know my parents? I decided to take a stroll around and a very nice lady picked me up on Blair Rd and gave me some water (I was pretty thirsty and a little hungry). She said I can stay with her until my family is located.

What a fantastic meeting this morning! If you weren’t able to attend, you were definitely missed.

We broke into small groups and shared ideas about what we’d like to see from the association moving forward. The discussion was filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and many wonderful suggestions.

There are some exciting things ahead, so keep an eye out for updates and little tidbits of information as we continue to move forward together!
