June’s Place was created to honor the memory of June E. (Hicks) Radabaugh, a long-time member of the Reading United Methodist Church, who passed away in February 2013 at the age of 89. June graduated from Homer High School as valedictorian of the class of 1941. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Adrian College and pursed graduate studies at the University of Michigan. In 1947, June married John Radabaugh and they moved to Reading in 1953. June viewed the Church as part of a broader Christian mission to help people, especially those who could not do for themselves. Through her 60 years’ service in the local church as well as at the district and conference levels of the United Methodist Church, June lived out her commitment to Christian mission. As a contributor to various Christian publications, she was able to express her views on the responsibilities of living a Christian life. June’s Place is a perfect expression of the values by which June lived.
