I started rescuing and helping dogs full time in 2009. Furry Angel Friends is a non-profit tax-exempt rescue and sanctuary that was established on July 26, 2018. Our permanent residents run free on 15 fenced in acres, with partial woods. We only use kennels and smaller fenced in areas temporarily to raise puppies and keep new dogs that need a transitional period to be integrated with our permanent dogs. We find homes for dogs, sometimes relocating these dogs to rescue groups in the northeastern part of the U.S., where there is a greater demand for dogs. We also help other dogs, locally, at their “place of need,” giving the owners food, treats, bones, medicine, medical help, and dog houses. We have put up fencing to get dogs off chains; it saddens us greatly to see dogs live in such confinement. The dogs that live on our sanctuary are well taken care of and loved tremendously! Mark and I have primarily funded this organization, with minimal donations, spending multiple six figures over the years on this endeavor. As our organization has grown, we now have a need for additional funding in order to expand our vision. We can do so much more with additional backing; we have a desire to help as many dogs as possible, and we now realize that we need support in order to do so. We thank God for giving us the privilege to know so many wonderful and loving animals. They are His creatures, and we believe they deserve to have the best of care and all the help and love we can all give them! ❤️🐾 FOSTER SPOTLIGHT: TRACY LAUX & HER FAMILY! 🐾❤️

In rescue, the love we give so often comes right back to us tenfold. Tracy Laux and her husband are the perfect example! ❤️🐾. Earlier this year, they adopted a Mississippi kitty named Clarissa and fell so in love with her that they went back for another baby and adopted Momo! 🐱💕

Somewhere along the way, Tracy became not only a wonderful adopter but also a dear friend and an amazing foster mama for our Mississippi kitties arriving in Pennsylvania. Recently, we needed a foster home for two kitties who weren’t feeling their best and needed a little extra TLC for a couple of weeks. Tracy opened her home to both of them, giving them the love, care, and comfort they needed. Before she knew it, those two little kitties worked their way right into her heart, too! 🥹❤️ -- And just like that -- Tracy and her husband became foster fails! 😂❤️ That brings their family to FOUR Mississippi cats! 🐱🐱🐱🐱

What makes this even more special is that Tracy and her husband continue to open their home to foster our kitties whenever the need arises. They understand that rescue doesn’t end when an animal finds a home. Sometimes, it means opening your home temporarily, giving a kitty a safe place to land, and helping them get ready for their happily-ever-after.

Tracy Laux, we cannot thank you and your husband enough! Your compassion, commitment, and dedication to our Mississippi kitties mean more to us than you know. Having wonderful people like you in Pennsylvania makes our rescue village stronger and allows us to help even more cats who desperately need a chance. ❤️

We have SO many happy tails to celebrate!

Before we head into another transport, we wanted to share some pictures from a few of our recent local Mississippi adoptions AND some of the sweet puppies who made the trip to Pennsylvania with us last month.

📣 PENNSYLVANIA — WE'RE COMING BACK! 📣

Our next transport is planned for the week of October 19th! 🚐🐾

Our rescue village has been on the move! Look who just loaded the bus this evening heading to East PA! 🚌🐶

This handsome boy is ready for a lifetime of amazing adventures! His bags are packed, his ears are flapping, and the best news is he is heading straight to a home where he will be loved and spoiled!

We’re getting ready to send another group of our sweet Mississippi kitties **North to Pennsylvania**, not where they might, but where they absolutely will find a family ❤️

These cats and kittens have been waiting patiently for their chance—and thanks to our amazing supporters, fosters, transport volunteers, and our Pennsylvania partners, their big adventure is almost here! 🚐🐾

From **Mississippi Sunshine ☀️ to Pennsylvania Showers 🌧️**, these kitties are ready to make it rain **LOVE, PURRS, and HEAD BUTTS!** 😻

🍀 THE LUCKY 7 + TWO MORE LUCKY PUPS 🍀🐾

Last week, nine puppies made their way from Mississippi to one of our Partner rescues, Animal Rescue of New England (ARNE) in Rhode Island — and we couldn't let their journey go by without giving a HUGE thank-you to the people who made it possible. ❤️ Thank you Stephanie Watkins for making the 8 hour round trip drive to Hood's Pet Express LLC in Tupelo to make sure they caught the bus!

Seven of these puppies have a story that earned them the name The Lucky 7. 🍀 Someone discovered them in a very rural area in Raymond. A mama dog originally had 13 puppies. By the time help could reach them, only these seven could be found. We want to thank Debbe Amacker Tillman for refusing to give up on these puppies. She worked tirelessly to get them into safety and gathered the initial financial help needed to make it happen. These seven are here because of Debbe's perseverance. ❤️

Then came Lindsay Hall and Noreen Kenny, who opened their homes and fostered this Lucky 7 crew until they were ready for transport. 🏡🐶 - and this is where we want to say something that we can never say enough:

❤️ FOSTERS FAMILIES ARE EVERYTHING. ❤️

Without a foster home for these seven puppies, there would have been no Lucky 7 to talk about. It really is that simple.

Bonnie and Bambi are another perfect example. These two little girls were found on the side of the road in a ditch somewhere and, just like the Lucky 7, they needed somewhere safe to go. Thank you Debbie Bryant for opening your home temporarily for them while they received the care they needed until they were ready to make the trip to Rhode Island as well. 🐾❤️. Nine puppies. Nine lives changed. And behind every one of them was a foster home!

There are also other people working behind the scenes as well. We want to give a special thank-you to Daphne Karl for ALL of the work she does that most people never see. In addition to her own never ending rotation of foster pups and kitties, she is the one making sure ALL of the puzzle pieces come together to make transports like this happen for the pups and kitties in ALL of our foster homes — And there are A LOT of pieces! 🧩

📸 Photographs, posts and constantly keeps our adoption listings current on our available pets
💉 Making sure every foster has the appropriate vetting
📅 Scheduling veterinary appointments
🚗 Driving back and forth to vet appointments just about every day
📞 Coordinating with fosters, vets, transporters and receiving rescues
📝 Keeping up with records and deadlines
📦 Making sure everyone is ready when transport day arrives

When something doesn't go according to plan — because in rescue, there is always something doesn't go according to plan — she's the one figuring out how to make it work in addition to a hundred other little things that happen behind the scenes that she takes care of

Six lucky little Mississippi pups made the LONG journey to Pennsylvania along with the 15 kitties yesterday — and the best part? The pups were already adopted so they went straight into the loving arms of their new families! 🏡🐶💕

It’s always a long trip, but seeing these happy faces arrive safely and head straight home makes every mile worth it! 🚐🐾

🌟 THE DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR… STAR IS HOME! 🌟

If you have followed Furry Angel Friends for any amount of time, you probably know Star.

For what felt like an eternity, Star waited.

She was our longest resident. 💔

Star came to us after being shot in the face, an unimaginable act of cruelty that left her with permanent disfigurement. We can't help but wonder if the way she looked was the reason people kept overlooking her.

Because sometimes, the animals who need us the most are the ones who get overlooked first.

But Star never stopped being Star. ❤️

She was sweet. She was deserving. She was resilient. And she was waiting for someone to look past the scars and see the beautiful soul underneath.

And then…

SOMEONE DID. 🥹❤️

Star recently made the long journey from Mississippi to her new home in Connecticut, and today we are celebrating something we have dreamed about for so long:

✨ STAR HAS A FAMILY OF HER VERY OWN. ✨

No more waiting.
No more wondering if her forever family would ever come.
No more being passed over.

Just a home. A family. Love. And the happily-ever-after she deserved all along. 🏡❤️

Star, we are so sorry that someone hurt you.

We are so sorry you had to wait so long.

But we hope you know that every mile you traveled, every person who cared for you, every day you spent waiting…

it was all leading you here. 🌟

Today, we are celebrating you STAR!

The survivor.
The sweetheart.
The girl who waited.
And finally…

THE GIRL WHO GOT CHOSEN. ❤️

Congratulations, sweet Star. Your forever has finally begun. 🌟🐾

And to Star's new family in Connecticut — thank you for seeing HER. Thank you for looking beyond what happened to her and loving the dog she is today.

This is why we rescue.
This is why we keep going.
This is why we never give up on the ones who have been overlooked.
