Sleep in Heavenly Peace - SC, Charleston

We are an organization of volunteers that build and deliver beds to children who do not have one. Our mission: NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!

Yesterday, SC-Charleston’s Sleep in Heavenly Peace hosted a successful build day sponsored by the Summerville Baptist Church Men’s Group and Steve Hay. Paul, Terrell, Dean, Erica, Steve, and volunteers from Scott’s men’s group, and members of Summerville Baptist Church came together to build more than 20 beds for children in the Summerville community. This was our first build at Summerville Baptist Church, and we hope it won’t be our last. Thank you to everyone who worked through the heat to make it happen.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Charleston had another successful delivery day, delivering seven beds to children in need in North Charleston. Summer of Impact is underway at Coastal Community Church of Charleston, SC!
Paul led a team of eight volunteers, Dean led two, and Terrell led three as they delivered seven beds to children in Charleston. Special thanks to Steve and his family, Abby and Andrea, Will and Margaurite, Brian, Brendan, and Christopher. We could not fulfill our mission without volunteers from our church and the wider community.
If you would like to support our mission, we’d love for you to join us for a bed delivery on June 10th, 17th, or 24th, or for a bed build on June 13th or 27th!
We’re grateful these children now have beds and thankful for our community’s support.

We welcome donations of twin-size bedding, financial support, and bed build sponsors.
Comforters are especially needed, (no Throw Blankets please). Thank you for your support.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Charleston had another successful delivery day. We delivered four beds to children in need in North Charleston. Summer of Impact has arrived for Coastal Community Church of Charleston, SC!
Tonight, our VP Paul McWhirter led two teams at the same apartment complex. 11 volunteers. 4 beds. one mission, to get the children off of the floors in our town.
If you are interested in our mission, you are welcome to join us for a bed delivery on June 6th or our bed build on June 13th and 27th! Thank you to Paul, Dean, Steve, Anastasia, Victoria, Mike, Weaver, Brian and the others who volunteered.

This week, Sleep in Heavenly Peace Charleston received 4 comforters, 2 bed-in-a-bags, and a sheet set. We are proud to place this beautiful bedding on the beds we deliver throughout the Charleston area. Thank you to Donna W., Susan W., and David S. for their generous donations. We also received 2 comforters and 2 bed-in-a-bags from anonymous donors, and we are deeply grateful for their support. These gifts will help provide children with the dignity of having a bed of their own and the chance for better rest, health, and success.

We fit all seven beds into two bedrooms, which was challenging, but we made it work. We’re grateful these children now have beds and thankful for the support of our community.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Charleston was gifted 46 beautiful handmade quilts and pillow cases sewn by the amazing sewing team of The West Ashley Quilting and Sewing group. We are so proud to put these beautiful quilts on the beds we deliver here in the Charleston area. Carol, Beth and the team do such an amazing job for us.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Charleston had another great day of deliveries. We delivered 5 beds to needy kids in Summerville. Dean led a team assisted by Ms. Sidney, Nick, Steve, Ms. Kellie and Ed. We are grateful to have gotten these five beds delivered yesterday. We can’t do it without the help of our community.
