OUR FIRST BABY! Meet Daisy. She was found by her lonesome last night. She will be placed with 6 other babies, a little younger, so she can keep them warm. Baby possum joeys and jills are normally still in mom's pouch at this age, so these guys are tube fed every 2 hours with us until their eyes open.

Monty is recovering well. He came to us last week with some kind of chronic hind limb injury. The lameness was causing him to drag a hind leg which had worn his knee and tops of his feet. He also had some tail injuries thatneeded to be deep cleaned and wrapped. We are hoping with a soft, dry surface and not having to travel for food and shelter his hips and ulcerations will heal and he can be released back to his neighborhood with Rebecca.

Our second head trauma momma this week has us very overloaded. Ellie with Keeper of the wild transported her to me from Mt. Pleasant. She has three beautiful babies and is very miserable. Her throat is very bruised and swollen, making it very difficult to breathe.

Regina has been with us about a week. We don't typically care for a large volume of raccoons, but this little one had sat out in the sun on a very hot day and was weak, dehydrated, and had a terrible ear infection.

We've been so busy with babies I have neglected our posts! Here is Buddy, our latest intake from a fellow rehabber. He was hit by a car a few weeks ago and couldn't walk or hold his head up correctly. He was put in our very special "laundry basket ICU" to allow his head and neck swelling to subside. He is still a little weak in his hind end, but was trying real hard to walk around the lawn last night. He is still growling and eating well, so he should be releasable.

This is Scooter. He is a baby from last summer that was put in our care from another rehabber. We had hopes that his neurologic issues would improve. He is almost normal except for his weak right leg and doing his hallway laps very well.
