Our Mission: Enhancing the quality of life in Western New York by donating to individuals, families
& community programs in honor of our hero, John. Fiore Memorial Golf Tournament was founded in 2009 by the family and friends of John Fiore to honor his memory after his tragic passing on Flight 3407 in Clarence, New York, on February 12, 2009. In 2019, the event was formally incorporated as The Jo

hn Fiore Foundation, and we proudly received 501(c)(3) status in 2020. John dedicated his life to his family and his country, serving with distinction for 30 years in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. A true patriot, he fought for our freedom in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and completed two tours in the Iraqi War. John retired from active duty in 2006 as a Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force. He was looking forward to retiring from his civilian job at Washington Mills in 2011. He is our hero, and his absence is deeply felt every day. John had a heart for helping others, especially children. He led numerous fundraisers for Oishei Children's Hospital and supported many local causes close to his heart. Thanks to your unwavering kindness, generosity, and belief in our mission, we have donated over $765,341 through December 2025. This includes:

$15,000 to Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue

Happy Juneteenth!
Today, The John Fiore Foundation honors Juneteenth—also known as Freedom Day or Jubilee Day.

On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger and Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of the Civil War and ensure the freedom of the remaining enslaved African Americans. Though the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed two and a half years earlier, it wasn't until this day that the news and enforcement finally reached Texas.

Beginning in 1866, formerly enslaved Texans marked the anniversary with the very first "Jubilee Day" festivities, sparking a powerful tradition of resilience, reflection, and community that we continue to celebrate today.

What a fabulous, whirlwind of a weekend for the The John Fiore Foundation! 🌟

We are bursting with gratitude and pride after teaming up with some incredible community partners to make a real difference.

Here is a look back at our action-packed few days:

Saturday 🛶 | We were honored to be the Basket Raffle Sponsor at the Hope Chest Buffalo Dragon Boat Races at Buffalo RiverWorks! Ronnie and Diane manned the raffle table, Sharon and Jackie handled the 50/50 and Deb oversaw the raffles like a rockstar.
Thanks to everyone's generosity, the basket raffle raised an incredible $11,000 for Hope Chest Buffalo, supporting vital health and fitness programs for breast cancer survivors.

Sunday ⛳ | The JFF hit the greens as a Silver Sponsor for the annual Thomas Porteus Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, raising funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes research and support.

Today (Monday) 🏌️‍♂️ | We kept the momentum going as a Birdie Sponsor for the 23rd Annual Roy Sommer Golf Tournament, which helps fund scholarships for deservingSUNY Niagaraa student-athletes.

⛳️ Proud to Support the Next Generation of Student-Athletes! 🦅

The John Fiore Foundation was honored to be a birdie sponsor today at the 23rd Annual Roy E. Sommers Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament at the beautiful Niagara Frontier Golf Club.

Every year, this incredible event comes together to provide vital scholarships for student-athletes at SUNY Niagara, helping them chase both their academic and athletic dreams.

While it was a great day on the course for Ronnie and the boys, it was also a heavy-hearted, somber one for our crew. This marked the very first "Roy" without our long-time friend, Eric Knuutila, who passed away in March.
Eric's absence was deeply felt on the course today, but we know his spirit was right there with them in every swing, laugh, and shared memory. We are proud to keep supporting a cause that means so much to our community.

Here’s to keeping traditions—and legacies alive.💙🏌️‍♂️
