WONDERFUL NEWS TO SHARE....
WE HAVE A NEW HISTORICAL SOCIETY LOGO !

We are pleased to announce that we have a new logo for the Random Lake Area Historical Society, Inc! We have worked with a Random Lake High School honor student to design our new logo.

Special "THANKS" to Alexis Sargent
who has done an amazing job!

We will use this logo for years to come and couldn't be more grateful to Alexis! She volunteered her time and stepped out of her comfort zone taking on this project. We were "WOWED" by her talent.

"THANK YOU" VERY MUCH ALEXIS! We appreciate your support and volunteer spirit. If you know Alexis, please THANK her!

With deep appreciation,
The Random Lake Area Historical Society Board & Members

1902 Random Lake. The village's origins trace back to the mid-19th century, when the first settler, John P. Carroll, arrived in 1848 and settled land that was then part of the Town of Scott (divided in 1850 to form Abbott Township, later renamed Sherman in 1865). Development accelerated with the completion of the railroad in 1870, which spurred the construction of a depot and prompted the village's initial naming as Greenleaf in honor of railroad agent E. D. Greenleaf; however, the name was soon changed to Random Lake to reflect the local geographic feature. Incorporated as a village on September 3, 1907, Random Lake quickly grew into a hub for the surrounding farming community, with early businesses including general stores, hotels, and a post office established shortly after the railroad's arrival.
