There is something special about the farm.

An animal leans in for attention, gives side eye or a heehaw or neigh. A smile appears, a hand reaches out… For that moment troubles and worries fade away and joy fills in.

Romeo has shared those moments with so many people. His kind eyes, gentle nature, and funny personality have brought comfort, laughter, and joy to visitors of all ages. He may not know it, but he helps hearts heal every day.

Romeo is sporting his fly pants these days to help keep him comfortable during fly season. From his weekly fly pants needs, to fly spray, and the new trailer of hay needed to feed the animals, the costs of caring for the animals is always high.

If Romeo has ever made you smile, if the farm has ever brought you peace, or if you believe in giving animals a safe and loving forever home, we hope you’ll join us this Friday for Bingo or next Saturday for Line Dancing.

A fun night out can help provide the care, comfort, and feed that Romeo and his friends depend on each day.

“It’s good to help others… that’s the point of being alive.”

After sorting through hundreds of pounds of produce donations, I decided to record a few thoughts from one of our incredible volunteers. His words were simple, honest, and beautiful.

This amazing man, along with so many others, come to the farm day after day to help with chores, care for the animals, and make this place what it is. The truth is, the animals’ and people’s lives are changed because of people like him.

His beautiful words are a reminder that sometimes the simplest things said from the heart carry the most meaning. In a world that can feel busy and heavy, hearing kindness spoken so genuinely reminds us why community, compassion, and helping others matters so much.

Romeo wears the pants around here!

But our horses, pigs, goats and sheep still need help keeping the flies away! If you’d like to help support the animals, donations towards fly spray or Simplifly supplements would make a huge difference as warmer weather brings more bugs.
