North East Alabama Cutting Horse Association North East Alabama Cutting Horse Association Cutting horses have historically been the indespensible ranch hand.

From the Wild West days, the horses that showed cow smarts would be elevated to the distinction of a cutting horse. While cattle ranches still use cutting horses to separate cattle or drive cattle in a specific direction, the sport of cutting horses has become one of the fastest growing competitive sports in the nation. Today a cutting horse is a horse developed through superior breeding and caref

ul training. Our mission is to continue that heritage through growing membership, events, networking, and youth programs. This is a sport for life, and we strive to make it enjoyable to and for all age groups. In 1955, 300 NCHA events were held with total purses of $190,000. The ensuing decades have afforded tremendous growth for the NCHA and today, more than 2,200 shows are held annually with total prize money exceeding $36 million.

Stall and RV charts for this weekend in Rainsville. I’ve had multiple changes every day so please check and make sure I got all of them applied. It’s been fun to keep up with them. lol.

Barns will open after noon on Thursday. If you will be arriving later in the night on Thursday, please text me and let me know.

Mr. Toby and company can’t be with us this show so we will not have catered dinner Saturday evening.

We will have a fun movie night for the youth Saturday night! Lily Eaves is organizing a fun night for the kids- popcorn and a movie in the conference room 7pm.

UPDATE- We have gotten permission to cancel our limited aged classes on Saturday and Sunday. We will still have Derby Open & NP and Classic Open & NP on Friday. Then just the weekend shows on Saturday and Sunday. If this changes your stall count, please text me and let me know. If you had a tack stall in your count and you can give it up, please let me know. We are trying to accommodate all we can with the cattle available and stalls available. I have a waiting list and will be going down it in order the requests were received and take as many as possible. I’ll be contacting some of you to confirm as I work through list. Thank you all for being understanding. We know many of you are hauling for Easterns and trying to accommodate all we can.

Sure hope y’all are surviving these frigid temps and all the ice fun.

Our first NEALCHA CUTTING of 2026 will be Feb. 20-22 in Rainsville, AL. We have made some changes and added some classes. Please see schedule below. Our judge is Ryan Pierce.

Friday, 2.20.26- starts at NOON with Derby Open & NP, Classic Open & NP, then Open & NP/Unltd Am

Saturday, 2.21.26- starts 8am with Derby Open & NP then Weekend Championship Show

Sunday, 2.22.26- starts 8am with Classic Open & NP then Weekend Championship Show
