Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and brotherhood affected by the loss of Lt. Doug Hall. He was a great man, firefighter and instructor. He will be missed.

All we can say is WOW! Today's SQFD Car Show & Swap Meet was an incredible success!!

We had more than 130 participating vehicles and a great turnout of spectators. So many people helped to make this event happen!! We greatly appreciate all of the amazing vendors who provided delicious food and beverages, beautiful handmade crafts, talented face painting, photography and more. Our friends from West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company graciously brought their Fire Prevention Safety House and fire prevention goodies for the kids. Queensbury EMS brought a great bounce house slide and more importantly, spent the day with us to make sure that fast emergency care was available, if needed. Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company stood by to help cover our district. Our neighbors allowed us to use their parking lots for spectators which was a huge help. We gave out beautifully handcrafted trophies made by Brian Hoss and sponsored by local businesses. The cars were judged by South Queensbury Fire Department Life Member Bill Duell, our town fire Historian, JP Jones, Julie from C & S Speed Shop, and Dick Petro who volunteered his time and expertise on our planning committee. We enjoyed music from our DJ, Brian Donovan and had a clean and The Luxe Trailer Co. provided a clean, convenient restroom trailer. Rozell Industries, Inc kindly donated equipment and supplies for the day. Some of our Town of Queensbury officials and candidates even came out to show their support. Everyone was patient, flexible, generous and respectful which we are so thankful for!

Looking forward to doing it even bigger and better next year! Thank you again to EVERYONE who made today so successful, including our own members, auxiliary, and all of our families who worked tirelessly. We couldn't have had such a great event without all of you!!

We are just TWO weeks away from our car show on August 29th!! 🚘🏎🛻

Not only will there be awesome cars to check out but we have more than 20 vendors joining us. There will be food trucks, iced coffee, a dirty soda booth, lemonade, sweet treats, handmade items, face painting for the kids and more! And wait until you see our awesome hand crafted trophies! 🏆

We have a few more spaces available for food or craft vendors and would love to have more swap meet vendors as well. Please reach out ASAP if you are interested. Most importantly, please share our flyer!! We can't wait to see you there!💥

This week members trained on Confined Space rescue. Training was conducted by Captain Wells and Chief Harrington.

Confined Space Rescue is considered a high risk low-frequency event.

We trained using a storage tank and focused on a non-entry rescue approach which is typically the safest option for rescuers.

Tonight members drilled on low angle rescue and packaging a patient in a stokes basket. These are valuable skills that our members work very hard at becoming proficient in.

At 0821 hours we were alerted to a structure fire on Belle Ave. Kingsbury Car 38 arrived on scene and confirmed a working structure fire. Members from both Kingsbury and South Queensbury made a fast knock down of the fire. Once the fire was knocked down, members conducted overhaul.

Units were back in full service around 1100 hours.

There were no reported injuries.

Tonight we hosted an Emergency Vehicle Operation Course with our brothers from the West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company.

Assistant Chief Topping III set the course up and demonstrated how to perform maneuvers such as parallel parking, alley docking, maneuvering through offset lanes and the slalom both forward and backwards.

These are some of (but not all of) the maneuvers that our members need to prove their proficiency in prior to being signed off to operate apparatus. On top of this all of our apparatus operators need to go through a NYS EVOC course as well as a NYS Pump Ops course.
