It’s an honor for Pullman Rotary to help select the Pullman Walk of Fame inductees each year and to celebrate those whose service, leadership, and contributions have made a meaningful impact on our community.

Congratulations to the 2026 Walk of Fame Class and to each inductee whose contributions have helped shape Pullman and strengthen our community.

Happy National Dog Day! Our spokespup, Wilson the Pug, wanted to mark the occasion with an update on the Pullman Rotary Memorial Fountain Project.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve raised more than $8,100 toward our $22,000 goal to fund two new ADA-accessible, pet-friendly water fountains at the Pullman City Playfield.

But here’s the exciting part: We can install the first fountain as soon as we reach $11,000. That means we’re less than $3,000 away from putting fountain No. 1 in the ground!

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, purchased a commemorative brick, or helped spread the word. And a special thank you to Founding Business Sponsors, SEL Community—Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories and VMRD, Inc., for investing in the project and our community.

Want to help us reach that first $11,000 milestone? Donations of any size make a difference, and commemorative bricks are available to honor a loved one, beloved pet, business, organization, or a special occasion and connection to Pullman.

Another successful National Lentil Festival in the books!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and enjoyed a glass (or two) of wine. Pullman Rotary receives proceeds from every pour, helping support service projects including the Irv Field Grand Project for Community Enhancement, local food banks, improvements to public spaces such as new pet-friendly water fountains, and so much more!

Every glass helps us put service into action right here in our community.

A big Rotary Club of Pullman welcome to WSU Pullman new and returning international students!

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for the annual Rotary/WSU International Student Welcome Picnic. Pullman Rotarians look forward to this event each year — a chance to share a meal, welcome students to our community, and build new connections and friendships.

Much appreciation to WSU International Programs Rosauers Supermarkets, and everyone who helped make the picnic happen. With students returning to campus, the energy and excitement for the new academic year are off the charts. Have a great year and Go Cougs!

Next up for Pullman Rotary: wine pouring with Merry Cellars at National Lentil Festival. See you there!

It’s a summer of impact at the Rotary Club of Pullman!

Our July 15 meeting reminded us that service comes in many forms, from investing in our local community to supporting students halfway around the world.

We welcomed Shea Brandt, senior program manager for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories’ Employee Wellness Program, who shared how SEL supports the wellbeing of its employees and their families. She also shared an update on the transformation of the Pullman Aquatic and Fitness Center, which SEL purchased from the Pullman School District in 2025.

Work is underway to modernize the facility, improve safety, comfort, and energy efficiency, and expand hours and programming for Pullman-area families, students, and seniors as it becomes the SEL Wellbeing Center.

Immediate Past President Debi Dockins was recognized for her dedicated leadership during the past Rotary year. Her impact extends well beyond our club through Rotary District 5080 and an extraordinary 31 years of service to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program.

Our digital literacy project in Kenya continues to move forward, with renovations at Mwarano Primary School making great progress in partnership with the Rotary Club of Lang'ata and the Rotary Club of Ridgeways.

You don’t have to look far to find people making a difference. Whether it’s in your own community or halfway around the world, people are choosing to serve others every day.

Pullman Rotarians kicked off the 2026–27 Rotary year this week ready to create lasting impact!

At our first meeting of the new Rotary year, President Jess Downs picked up the gavel to begin his third term as club president. We also heard from Nils Peterson, executive director of Hills and Rivers Housing Trust, about the nonprofit’s work to create and preserve safe, inclusive and affordable housing opportunities while preserving the character of the community.

And last night, Pullman Rotarians traveled to Moscow, Idaho, to host dinner and share fellowship with emerging young leaders attending Rotary District 5080’s RYLA leadership camp.

Here’s to a new year of service, leadership and creating lasting impact together!
