The biggest mission of this conference is to bring together geoscientists who can create solutions to varying environmental dilemmas.

We believe that diverse perspectives fuel innovative solutions for risk mitigation and sustainable resource management. That is exactly why we created . This event provides a dedicated space for international experts to merge their knowledge and build a better future.

Thank you to all our instructors for our workshops.

To drive environmental change, we first need to understand the models we rely on 🌎

Today's plenary session explored how calibrating methodologies is the key to combating complex environmental problems, from urbanization and climate change to machine learning advancements.
Here are the exciting talks from today’s lineup:

📌 Sudip Pathak: Analyzed the evolution of the NOAA National Water Model versus the GEOGLOWS ensemble to improve global flood forecasting.

📌 Kushal Naharki & Dr. Yong-Lak Park: Demonstrated how drone-assisted biocontrol, ML, and integrated pest management (IPM) are tracking and managing the invasive Mile-a-Minute w**d.

📌 Nogales-Herrera et al.: Introduced a non-destructive, multimodal platform for single-particle chemical analysis in real environmental conditions.

Thank you to our speakers Katherine Moore Powell, Dan Ames, Corey Krewson, and Michael Souffront.

Our team at Tethys Geoscience led a conversation around the current state of our organization. Not only have we added a new platform update, but there's also new features like support for SQLite databases, component apps, and multi-tenancy now part of . The speakers also covered how we have more than 30 members assisting the organization and over 93 trainees.

Tethys Geoscience is growing! And we have to thank the continued support from folks in earth science networks. 🌱

Special thank you to GEOGLOWS and Lynker for their initiatives with our organization.

Have you ever heard of Dilbert, Dogbert, and Catbird? Well our attendees have.

Today, our keynote speaker, Dan Ames, illustrated the lifecycle of open-source development. While integrating his own experiences, Ames explains how developers make software that enhances the wellbeing of communities. According to him, that should be our primary motivation as we "get rich" from these tools.

Thank you so much to our keynote speakers of our conference.

The first day of was a success! 🎉

Now, we're onto 👀

We had an amazing time yesterday taking on Chicago with our insightful speakers and engaging workshops. The theme of the day seemed to center around community, so we cannot wait to see how we carry that philanthropic momentum forward.

We in geoscience care about our communities! 🌱

Our plenary talks included several presentations about innovate predictive applications and satellite technology. These technologies don't just collect data, but they empower local communities. Researchers, like our speakers, are able to optimize water resources that help bridge the gap between community safety and agricultural sustainability.

In Ecuador, Iza Wong and Rodríguez Pérez are transforming disaster response with satellites that monitor river overflow. Similarly, in Colombia, Arbeláez and Salazar are showcasing predictive apps that help the country manage water usage during extreme wet and dry periods.

Thank you to all these speakers!

We learned so much from our mentorship presentations! 🎉

Thank you to Priscillah Mirembe, Ayush Adhikari, and Gonzalo Forero for sharing the ways you've applied Tethys Platform to your research. From groundwater modeling in Uganda to flood forecasting basins in the U.S., each of you are creating applications that help people's daily lives.

Much like the presentations from this morning, the main goal of earth science is to fulfill the needs of the community. Each of you are doing exactly that!
