Update: Pierce County Snowmobile Council has decided NOT to open the Pierce County Snowmobile trail system.
Because of the lack of snow leading up to the storm, there is not a safe way to instantly open the trails. There are requests from landowners that are being included with the decision. Also, water crossings with bridges have been removed and there are other incomplete trail sections in the system right now.
Thank you for understanding the Council's decision.

Chance of snow!?!
The plan right now is to NOT open the snowmobile trails with this storm. But the Pierce County Snowmobile Council will assess the trails after we get the snow. Then they can determine as to when and where they can safely open. There are some very soft and muddy spots with running water they are concerned about and need to continue watching. We will update with anything if it changes.
Thank you!

From our Pierce County Snowmobile Council President Tom Lubich:
This was from safety week that Wisconsin DNR did a few weekends ago. So far their have been 10 fatalities from Snowmobile accidents in the state. Speed and alcohol are the two main causes. This season is coming to an end so please ride with caution.

Club members were out doing some trail maintenence recently. These pictures are from our Big River section of trail and the Trutman bridge in Trimbelle. The trail was eroding into the ravine and a dangerous blind corner was fixed. There was an excavator and skid loader donated for some of the work. A special shout out to Rich Ruemmele, Darrell Hubbell, Tom Lubich and Dan Braun. Tom had a slight run in with the chainsaw cutting a tree down (picture not allowed!)... you will have to ask him about it! Thanks for the hard work everybody!
