Les Amis du Fort de Chartres, “Friends of Fort de Chartres,” is a not-for-profit organization made up of volunteers striving to preserve, protect, and interpret the physical structural and cultural heritage of Fort de Chartres in the 1700s. Les Amis du Fort de Chartres "Friends of Fort de Chartres" is a not for profit organization made up of volunteers striving to preserve, protect, and interpret

the physical structural and cultural heritage of Fort de Chartres in the 1700s. Membership for Les Amis is open to all and encourages volunteering at Fort de Chartres State Historic Site or to support of the organization’s activities at the Fort. Beginning March 2016, Les Amis began publishing a quarterly newspaper announcing current fort events and activities-Gazette de Les Amis du Fort de Chartres. Some of the recent past projects accomplished by Les Amis: sponsoring a monthly series of demonstrations-Art de vivre, helping to repair the site’s bread oven, supporting the Fort de Chartres Jardin Potager by purchasing heirloom seeds and trees, volunteering at Kid’s day, assisting at event registrations, helping maintain the Fort library, making the fort a stop on the Prairie du Rocher Chamber Garden and Christmas tours. Les Amis du Fort de Chartres looks forward to continuing the tradition of local community support and involvement at our unique state historic site, Fort de Chartres.

The Tippecanoe Ancient Fife & Drum Corps , 42nd Royal Highlanders , Great River Fifes & Drums , and the River Valley Colonials will participate in opening and closing colors and will also be performing both days at the 56th Annual Rendezvous at Fort de Chartres , June 6th and 7th. Their music and pageantry add so much life to the event! Be sure to get there before 10, so you can see all four groups together at opening colors. It's truly a moving experience.

You don't want to miss the sights and sounds of Rendezvous!!!

For participants - Registration for both primitive and modern camping will be open 8am - 8pm daily Wed- Fri, June 3rd - 5th, and you can drive on the grounds to set up.

For visitors - Don't miss the 56th Annual Rendezvous at Fort de Chartres , Saturday and Sunday, June 6th and 7th. $10 donation per car. Such a bargain for an incredible event!

When you come to the 56th Annual Rendezvous at Fort de Chartres , Saturday and Sunday, June 6th and 7th, be sure to bring your appetite! There will be a wide selection of good things to eat and drink in the food court. Hootens will have their full farm hand breakfast, plus their legendary fried fish, fried potatoes, burgers and fries, Snyders Pioneer Karmel Korn will have kettle corn, pork rinds, chicken & dumplings, and maybe a few other things, get a buffalo burger or a beef burger at the Prairie du Rocher Fire Department booth, and of course there will be Bud's Homemade Root Beer ! Don't forget your root beer bottle so you can get refills cheap. It's the best!
