Powhatan Food Pantry -June Post
The Powhatan Food Pantry has created an Amazon wish list to highlight current needs. You don’t have to purchase off of Amazon but can use this as a reference. The exact brands are not required. For example, any pancake mix is acceptable.

Volunteers Needed: The Pantry is in serious need of volunteers to pick up groceries, especially on Thursdays. There is a pickup from both Powhatan Food Lions Mon-Sat at 9am. There is a pick up from Wegmans at 10:30 am a few days a week. Two people are needed for each pickup. Great volunteer opportunity for families. The Pantry has vans to use for pickup.

The Pantry is located at 2500 Batterson Rd, Powhatan. It is open Mon 9-12, Wed 4-6pm, Fri 9-12pm.

I also want to add that the Pantry is a great resource for your family if you are struggling to stretch funds. There is no income requirement. Many people do not realize they are eligible to shop.

WE HAVE A HUGE SELECTION OF REALLY GOOD FOOD AND FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Our volunteers will be here ready to help

If you have never been to our pantry and are in need of food please come and see us.

Come early and get a number out of the basket by the door that is how we bring people in the building. You can stay in your car until we open, we only allow 3 people in the pantry at a time.

You need to bring proof of residency in Powhatan, a drivers license OR a bill with your name and address in Powhatan.

Income not a determining factor!

You will be asked how many are in your family and ages and names of family members that live with you.

You will fill out a shopping list and pick the items you want from the back canned goods meats ect. Our volunteers will pull the items from your shopping sheet in back while you are shopping up front.

Then you will go shopping in front for the produce, bakery and bread items you need.

It's very easy we have a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
We have remodeled our
pantry its very pretty and easy to shop!

We do not judge people we want everyone to feel comfortable. If you are in need we are here to help you. 😀

We need volunteers to use our vans to go pick up food and bring back to pantry sort and put away.

We pick up every day at Foodlions, Publix, Wegmans, KFC. Pick up starts at 8:45am and you are normally finished by 10:30am.

A couple would be great. If you are interested in helping our community message me and we will get you set up.

There is nothing more satisfying than helping others.
