God delivered me from years of addiction, healed my body and restored my marriage. Now we have this burden to go to others coming out of addictive and destructive lifestyles. The ones in recovery homes and recovery ministries fighting for a new life in Christ. We don't really bring anything new, just the same Good News that they are already hearing from their leadership. We share our testimony, th

e Gospel and the love of Jesus! But most importantly, we stand as the evidence of the power of God to heal, deliver, restore and redeem. Thank you! Jeff & Connie Johnson

Proverbs 25:25 says, "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country."

‼️Join us this Sunday night‼️

This may just look like any ordinary church altar, but can I tell you it represents much more than that! This altar at Victory Christian Center in Azle, Texas has been like a “Bethel’’ for thousands of men passing through the Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas, Azle Men's Center. Every Sunday night since 2009 pastor Jim Hartin has poured into the lives of broken men by preaching to them, teaching them, praying for them, and loving them.

It was at this church that God healed my back of 15 years of terrible chronic back pain from a 40’ fall. It was in this church where God would teach me that the operation of the gifts of the Spirit were real and available even to me! It was in this church that I would graduate from Adult & Teen Challenge and answer the call of God 12 years ago!

Connie and I are honored to be preaching here this Sunday evening at 6 pm. So for all of our Azle, Springtown, Weatherford and Fort Worth friends…. we would love for you to join us at 737 Boyd Road in Azle, Texas

We are so proud to announce that In His Grip now has a website! We weren’t looking for it or expecting it, but God decided to connect us to someone who thought we needed it. And not just any someone, but someone whose entire life is doing this for the Kingdom! Shout out to Damein Donald who has a story just like mine…. Pulled from the darkness of a life of addiction by the mighty hand of our loving Savior. Damein does podcasts, commercials, small clips, but his bread and butter and his true calling is to design and build premium websites.

I’m going to put his website with a way to reach him in the comment section below. Hit him up for top notch media work.

Our desire is to share the hope of Jesus Christ and the power of His gospel to hurting and broken people.

Yesterday we had the awesome opportunity of meeting the director of the Graham Campus of Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest, sister Stacie Watts-Shaffer.

Stacie has been a key figure on staff there since 2011 and Director since 2014. It was obvious to us that she is an incredible leader by the spirit of the staff and students who we were with over the last few days. We were certainly honored that she would make it to our church service yesterday to connect.

This is so well said.

Something to consider as we enjoy our day off. No matter how messed up we may think it is, America still the best country in the world and it’s that way because of some of the bravest men and women who have paid the ultimate price.

I look at this picture every year on Memorial Day and the older I get, the more deeply I feel it.

- The freedom to publicly preach Christ
- The children I'll laugh with today
- The vacation I will enjoy with Jana later this summer
- The life we've been blessed to build together
.. all enabled by young men and women who did not get to enjoy them, so that you and I could.

And they were YOUNG. Ronald Reagan put this in striking perspective:

“It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense of us, in wars far away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray haired. But most of them were boys when they died, and they gave up two lives—the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for our country, for us. And all we can do is remember.”

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every family who sacrificed a loved one so that we could enjoy our loved ones today.

"Greater love has no man than this; that someone lay down his life for his friends."
– John 15:3

I often say, ‘’always amazed, but never surprised.’’ This was one of those days!

The Lord orchestrated an incredible Pentecost Sunday for us in Tacoma, Washington. Pastor Randy Bach and his wife Linda are an amazing team with such a huge heart for the Lord and their community. They serve beyond the church walls by helping the broken and hurting, which brings me to this cool story…

Dametri is an intern at the Seattle Campus of Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest where we’ve been ministering the past few days and today his assignment was to take some of the guys to the church we preached at. Well, years ago pastor Randy and sister Linda had tried to help him while he was in his mess and even though it would be some years later before Dametri would get clean and begin serving the Lord, he never forget about the love he received from the Bachs. Today he got to thank them in person because out of 6 interns the Lord caused the lot to fall on him. 😳🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

After that very moving ‘thank you’ we had a powerful time of worship before the Lord helped us to preach and then we had an amazing time around the altars where the Holy Ghost ministered to our hearts and minds and bodies. I’m so grateful for my Pentecostal heritage and to be connected with others like us!!

Pentecost isn’t about a certain Sunday or a certain denomination, it’s a lifestyle of power and being a living witness of our wonderful Savior!! EVERY DAY!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

We are grateful to you Pastor Randy and honor you and the Gateway family!

Tonight was a small intimate gathering with the staff from both Seattle Campus of Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest and Graham Campus of Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest. After we worshipped the Lord together we had the blessed opportunity to pour into and pray for these incredible servants of the Lord.

Recovery ministry is probably one of the most demanding and taxing ministries that there is. And in most of our travels the focus is almost always on the students, but pastor Westley asked if we would use tonight for the staff to be refreshed. God showed up and helped us all to realize that none of our efforts go unnoticed by Him! And nothing is ever wasted when it comes to serving His Kingdom.

We had the extra special honor of meeting Didas and Stella, directors from Teen Challenge Uganda.

This morning Ms Connie went and loved on these precious ladies. As always she is like a spotlight of hope and encouragement. She spoke life into them and reminded them of their value to the Lord and then left each of them with a little reminder. She has given bracelets to ladies from one side of this country to the other and everywhere in between. It still amazes me how God can use something so small to make such an impact.
