Quick update on our girl, Rose: she is doing very well!!! Eating, drinking, and making sure the neighbors know when dinner is late. She is spending hers days in her stall in front of her fan and the evenings in the courtyard bossing Bob around. It's fantastic to see our girl back to her old self again. Thank you for all of your well wishes during our girl's recovery! It was terrifying and a lesson learned the hard way.

Rose is part of our bitty club (30 plus years old). She came to us many years ago along with Marty when a follower sent us a Craiglist ad. We bought them for $50 each. Rose has been blind in her right eye and has had a bowed front left leg since the day we got her. Don't let her age or her "imperfections" fool you. Rose is a sweet and sassy fighter who thinks nothing about trying to get past new people at the gate.

Some days the filter just comes off. Today is some day ...... I generally don't entertain negative comments, but this one was one I couldn't let go. She has the nerve to make a negative comment and then turn off the ability to tag her in a post.

You might remeber a few weeks ago that our girl, Rose, needed some good juju sent her way because she quickly became very weak, shakey, and disoriented. We were able to get her through it and have been diligently working on getting weight back in her. Last evening, Dan called me and told me that I needed to come tp the barn right away to look at Rose and he described the same symptoms she had a few weeks ago. We moved her quickly into her stall, worked on hydrating her and monitored her. I took this video and sent it to our vet. We talked about what was going on and what precipitated it. The common thread was Quest dewormer. On both occasions, I had used Quest gel dewormer a few hours before the onset of the tremors. We gave her a couple mls of banamine and waited. Thankfully, 2 hours after the banamine went in, the tremors began to subside and Rose began nibbling on her grain and hay. I wouldn't say that she is out of the woods yet, but we are headed in the right direction so far.

This was some scary stuff. Devorah, Nina, Joyce, and Mindy can attest to it. I have heard of some horses having a reaction to Quest, but never witnessed myself. This is the first time.in 30 years that I have seen this. I dewormed the whole barn the day before with the same deworming product without incident. Weird and frightening!

Bob's new fly boots will help protect his legs from biting flies. He isn't a fan, but he needs them.
