Working an average of 20 hours a week, job seekers 55 and older are paid the highest of federal, state or local minimum wage and are compensated by SCSEP directly.
The job seekers are placed in a wide variety of community service activities at non-profit and public facilities like Clerical, Customer Service, Food Prep, Day Care centers, Senior centers, Schools and Hospitals.

You Must live in 1 of the following PA Counties: Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, Bucks, Berks, Lehigh, North Hampton/ Franklin, Adams, York, Lebanon, Dauphin, Perry, & Cumberland County.

SCSEP Virtual Career Network Checklist (VCN)

Complete both the Interest and Skills questionnaires to help determine which careers you might want to explore based on your past education, training, and work experience.

On 30 September 2015 AARP Foundation SCSEP made a transition from the WorkSearch Assessment system to the Virtual Career Network (VCN). Once the transition is complete users will no longer be able to access the WorkSearch System. However, the Virtual Career Network will be available to the general public.

The WorkSearch assessment has aided the training and job search process of thousands of low-income seniors through AARP Foundation programs since it was launched, and AARP Foundation is grateful to the WorkSearch team for their dedication to developing and implementing WorkSearch.

VCN and the SCSEP Checklist were developed through a partnership among AARP Foundation, the US Department of Labor and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). VCN provides users tools to determine how their skills and interests match these jobs and then can explore these jobs through Choose a Career, Get Qualified, and Find a Job sections. VCN focuses on surfacing the top in-demand jobs across the country that match the interests of 50+ job candidates and the appropriate level of education and skill upgrades.
