Potts Camp Fire & Rescue got toned out to a brush fire this afternoon on Camp Street that had gotten out of hand. Thankfully it was put out in a timely manner and no structures were damaged.

This incident today is why we are under a burn ban, this fire very well could have caught structures on fire if not dealt with in a timely manner, thanks to our neighboring fire departments, Waterford Fire Department & Hickory Flat Fire Department for springing into action so quickly to help us get it out.

โ€ผ๏ธโ€ผ๏ธPlease do not burn anything until this burn ban is lifted. The conditions are very dry and windy and it only takes a second for โ€œcontrolled burnsโ€ to get out of hand in these conditions. The burn ban is in place to keep our citizens,structures, and property safe. Please refrain from burning until burn ban is lifted. Thank youโ€ผ๏ธโ€ผ๏ธ

IF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT GETS CALLED OUT TO A CONTROLLED BURN OF ANY KIND WHILE UNDER THIS BURN BAN AT YOUR RESIDENCE OR ANY OTHER LOCATION, WE ARE REQUIRED TO PUT OUT YOUR โ€œCONTROLLED BURNโ€ BEFORE WE LEAVE YOUR RESIDENCE, EVEN IF ITS IN A FIRE PIT OR A BURN BARREL WE ARE REQUIRED TO PUT IT OUT! PLEASE STOP BURNING STUFF UNTIL AFTER APRIL 28TH!!
