💙 **A PERSONAL REQUEST TO OUR NORTH IDAHO COMMUNITY** 💙

**We have a dream. We have a mission. We have the determination. But right now, we're missing one person.**

When we started Beyond the Boards Foundation, we knew this journey wouldn't be easy. Our vision of creating an inclusive community ice complex where people of all ages, abilities, and financial circumstances have a place to belong is a big one.

And we knew it would take time, patience, faith, and a community willing to help us along the way.

Today, we're reaching out with a very simple, heartfelt request.

**We're searching for ONE person willing to serve as a Temporary Volunteer Secretary on our founding Board of Directors.**

We've already taken some important steps toward establishing Beyond the Boards as a nonprofit organization. But before we can move forward with our application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, we're working to complete our founding board.

And that's where we could really use someone's help.

We're not asking for a lifelong commitment, a financial contribution, or someone with years of nonprofit experience.

We're simply hoping to find someone who can offer approximately one year of their time, attend 1–2 meetings per month, help take meeting minutes, maintain basic records, and believe in what we're trying to create.

You don't need to know anything about hockey or figure skating. You don't need to own a pair of skates.

**You just need to believe that everyone deserves an opportunity and a place to belong.**

Someday, we hope Beyond the Boards will be filled with children discovering something they love, athletes with disabilities finding opportunities designed for them, families building friendships, and young people finding confidence, purpose, and community.

But today, we're still taking those first steps.

And this is one step we can't take alone.

Maybe you're retired and looking for a meaningful way to give back. Maybe you have a little administrative experience. Maybe you've been wanting to volunteer but haven't found the right opportunity.

Or maybe you're simply someone who believes that even a small act of service can create something much bigger.

**We would love to talk with you.**

💙 **SMALL ROLE. BIG IMPACT. HELP US BUILD SOMETHING MEANINGFUL!** 🏒⛸️

Beyond the Boards Foundation is searching for a special someone to join our team as a **Temporary Volunteer Secretary!**

We're working toward a big dream: creating an inclusive community ice complex in North Idaho where people of all ages, abilities, and financial circumstances have opportunities to experience hockey, figure skating, sled hockey, recreational skating, and so much more.

But before we can build the dream, we have to build the foundation. ❤️

**And that's where YOU could make a difference!**

We're looking for someone willing to help us complete our founding Board of Directors so we can move forward with our application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS.

📋 **What's involved?**
- Approximately a one-year volunteer commitment
- Attend 1–2 meetings per month
- Take meeting minutes and help maintain basic records
- No long-term commitment required
- Bring a willingness to help and a heart for our community!

You don't need to be a hockey fan, know how to skate, or have nonprofit experience. We're simply looking for someone dependable who believes in creating opportunities for others.

🌲 **We may be a small foundation with a very big dream, but every great thing begins with someone willing to take that first step.**

Someday, we hope to see children discovering their passion, adaptive athletes finding opportunities, families building friendships, and people walking through our doors knowing they belong.

So much truth!! 🏒💚

One day, the games will stop.
The early mornings will end.
The hockey bags will get lighter.

And the rink won’t be our second home anymore.

So for now, I’m going to soak it all in.

Because I’m not just watching them play hockey. I’m watching them grow up.

48 players, 8 corporate teams, 8 Dreamers, and 1 unforgettable tournament for Dreams!

September 24th was Shine’s 3rd year of Come to Sleigh and the sport still feels a lot harder than it looks. Thanks to our professional on-ice leaders Kevin Rempel, Claire Buchannan, and Kris Dutkiewicz, we certainly felt a strong sense of what it takes to play.

The real win was everyone coming together to support Shine Dreams. Teams were willing to learn a new sport, adapt, trust their teammates, and keep pushing through. All of this hard work revealed why access to sport matters and the true power of para sports.

Thank you to our incredible players, participating alumni, and the wonderful sponsors and generous donors who made this tournament memorable.
