Wow. And just like that my time in Tanzania has come to an end. I don’t have full words to describe my time here… I don’t know how to express the myriad and entirety of emotions. I have learned more than I could have even expected and more than I could have even dreamt up😊 I’m so grateful for my time here and for the people who let me into their hearts. I will share more in the days to come, but know that God is on the move and He planted copious amounts of seeds in Tanzania and has a plan for this incredible country🇹🇿

And now what? Good question! I have felt led to come back to Ireland on the next leg of this journey! I know in the depths of my spirit that God has something for me here. This may seem like a nice vacation after some time on mission, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I have been keeping tabs on this beautiful prophetic movement happening in Ireland and God has drawn me in with a purpose. So as I come, I come with no real agenda… just my bags and an openness to see what Holy Spirit has and what God wants to do! Living on mission makes each place my feet touch and each person I meet an opportunity to express the love of God in a way He directs. So if you are following along or even supporting this journey I would love prayers for God to do what only He can do and for support so I can see His will through!

Hello out there! It has been a while, about a month or more, since my last post of substance and I am so sorry friends! I’m still over here😎😅

Things here in Tanzania have shifted! The rainy season has arrived and keeping my shoes and feet clean is not longer a thing I succeed at😆 but the rain is a blessing. I feel this shift spiritually as well. It’s a transition season for sure and one where seeds sown will be nourished with the rain🙌🏼

I am still rockin the village life with the kids and this life wouldn’t be the same without them♥️ these kids truly have my heart and I just know God has BIG plans for each of them! I’ve learned all about their personalities and what some of them long to be as they grow up. Look out Tanzania, these kids are fixin to make an impact for the Kingdom!

How can one quantify how much I love these kids… I have just one example… are you ready for it? I wake up Monday through Friday at 5:30am to wake the kids for school. I help however I can and then walk them to the road they take to school… *my favorite part of the day* if you know me, you know mornings are something I could live without… at least until 10am or so😆 (for the record I do try to go back to sleep and take forever to truly get ready and be awake). So if ya know, ya know.

It’s funny how God called me to this organization called AWAKEN INTERNATIONAL and I am the one to awaken the kids first thing M-F mornings😆 God is just funny… sooo funny😅😭

I have learned so much here and not just in regards to cooking and washing clothes😆 but God has really had me in like a Spiritual Bootcamp season💪🏼 and I am like a sponge that absorbs more and more lessons every single day. It’s been difficult and messy and confusing at times, but not once has God left my side. In fact, He shows me daily, even moment to moment just how close He is.

I’m happy to be here with these little world changers and happy to be here with one of my favorite furry friends, Gideon. He is the coolest cat and even walks with me and the kids to the road every morning! Sometimes we think he’ll go all the way to school with the kids😂 I thwart that plan however🤣

That’s all I got for now friends! Please keep me and these kids in your prayers because prayer moves the hand of God y’all🙌🏼

Greetings and welcome to our page! This is Shelbi, the founder of Awaken International which is a nonprofit organization that was launched in October of 2022. Our vision is to encourage and equip God’s children all over the world to discover His purpose for their lives.
