Our Lodge partnered with Broken Together last weekend to host the inaugural Red White & Glow 5K run & 1.5 mile walk! What a great event to benefit veterans🇺🇸🪖🎖️!

The evening began with our traditional Flag Day ceremonies. At 9pm, just shy of 100 participants of all ages took off for the run/walk🏃🏃‍♀️. 14 of the top 25 finishers were under the age of 18.

Following the race, our Exalted Ruler Bruce Mustread presented a check to American Legion Post 78 for the purchase of Honor Guard uniforms.

Many thanks to the participants, volunteers and sponsors for their role in this successful event!

Flag Retirement ceremony

In 1979, our Lodge established a charitable trust for the sole purpose of distributing scholarship awards to our members and their children. In 2026, the fund is awarding $28,000 to 14 students who will be enrolled in post high school studies at a technical school, community college, or university undergraduate program.

Pictured are graduating PTHS students Addison Harms, Hayden Francis, Morgan DeWald, Cayden Masching & Dylan Verdun who were honored during the school awards night earlier this month.

Others receiving awards are Kaylee Delheimer, Grace Rice, Bailey Masching, Aaron Verdun, Jake DeWald, Libby Larkin, Isaiah Robinson, Kendall Pitchford, & Kortney Harms.

Our Lodge’s annual May Basket delivery brought joy to the 333 residents in the local long term care facilities 🌺🌼!

Thanks to our members that gathered to create and assemble the baskets, fill with fresh flowers, and deliver to each individual.

This past Sunday, our Lodge proudly hosted a Welcome Home dinner for the Alpha Troop, 2nd Squadron of the 106th Cavalry Regiment Illinois National Guard. This unit, based in Pontiac, returned recently from a year long deployment. They were deployed to protect US personnel & equipment in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

Lodge members prepared and served a pork chop dinner to the unit members. Each soldier was also gifted a Challenge Coin to commemmorate their deployment. Patrick Unzicker, with our local VA office, was also on hand to provide veteran benefit resources for the group.

Funding for this event was made possible thanks to the generosity of donations on our annual Freedom Ride.

Each year, on the first Sunday of December, every Elks Lodge in America remembers their departed members. This day is set apart as a day for Elks to gather and honor those who shall come no more.
