At Monday night’s City Council meeting, Susan Lorence and Sheri Lyons of the Plattsmouth Lions Club presented Officer Mike McKnelly with their first annual “First Responder Award”. This recognition highlights Officer McKnelly’s dedication and commitment to his role as a School Resource Officer.
Officer McKnelly will also be honored at the Lions Club Chili and Soup Supper this Thursday evening at Hosanna Lutheran Church. The event is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
We encourage the community to come out, show their support, and help recognize Officer McKnelly for his outstanding service.
A big thank you to the Plattsmouth Lions Club for their continued support of the Plattsmouth Police Department, as well as the many events they help make possible throughout the year. We appreciate their ongoing dedication to serving the Plattsmouth community.

The annual Lions Club soup supper was a huge success! We took an opportunity to acknowledge Mike McKnelly from our first responder recognition program! Officer Mike is the school resource officer who is doing amazing work within our community!
