City of Plattsburgh Climate Task Force Re-established in 2021, the City of Plattsburgh Climate Task Force supports the city’s commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

This Task Force exists to support the City of Plattsburgh’s efforts to meet New York State’s Climate Smart Communities and Clean Energy Communities goals - state programs designed to help municipalities both reduce their climate impact and prepare for its effects. Building on work that began in 2019, the CPCTF continues to advance initiatives that cut carbon emissions in city operations and promot

Parks Come Alive returns this Thursday! 😎

Join us on Thursday, June 11 from 4:30-7:30 PM at Peter Blumette Park for an evening of live music, local food, family activities, and community fun. 🛝

This week's event features:
• Live music by The Lowmen 🎶🎸
• A free Basic Bike Repair & Maintenance Class led by Hadley Markoski 🚲
• Local food trucks 🍔🌭
• Beer garden hosted by Old Soul Design Shop (21+)
• Caricatures by Joe Ferris
• The Luxury Photobooth Experience 📷
• Face painting by Jodi Brunner
• Sun spot viewing with Ephemer ADK
• 30+ community organizations with activities and giveaways
• The opportunity to enjoy Peter Blumette Park's brand-new playground

Thanks to our new community partner, Champlain Valley Family Center, a limited number of $5 food vouchers will be available while supplies last.

Yesterday was an exciting day for the Climate Task Force! 🌱

River Valley Regeneratives has officially been selected as the compost hauler for the City’s residential food waste reduction program.

This means we are now one step closer to launching a citywide food scrap drop-off program that will reduce landfill waste.🍅🥕🍏

Huge thank you to the members of the Task Force and everyone who has helped move this initiative forward. More details on program rollout and participation coming soon.
