City of Plattsburgh Climate Task Force Re-established in 2021, the City of Plattsburgh Climate Task Force supports the city’s commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

This Task Force exists to support the City of Plattsburgh’s efforts to meet New York State’s Climate Smart Communities and Clean Energy Communities goals - state programs designed to help municipalities both reduce their climate impact and prepare for its effects. Building on work that began in 2019, the CPCTF continues to advance initiatives that cut carbon emissions in city operations and promote environmentally responsible practices across the community. Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome! Learn more here: https://www.cityofplattsburgh-ny.gov/boards-committees-commissions/climate-task-force

We're busy working on our next project - a Repair Fair! 🔨🪡

Right now we're in the planning stages, and we need your help.

Are you or is someone you know a community-minded expert at fixing things? We're looking for volunteers who are interested in attending the fair as Repair Experts! (Participating Repair Experts will also be featured on our Task Force list of vendors who can rework or repair broken and damaged items.)

Share your ideas or sign up as a Repair Expert here: https://plattctf.wixsite.com/sustainableplatts/repair-cafe or by typing the shortened URL in the graphic into your browser.

We love to see it!

Sustainability is on the menu at Latitude 44 Bistro!♻️

We partnered with Latitude 44 Bistro to offer opportunities to compost their food scraps from the kitchen, and soon, they'll be composting food scraps from plate waste as well! The compost they will be creating themselves will be used in their herb garden. Circular fine dining is available thanks to the dedication of Latitude 44 Bistro!

Latitude 44 Bistro will be composting the restaurant's food scraps using recycled culverts from River Valley Regeneratives LLC with technical support and training offered by Compost for Good. Each culvert can turn nearly 3,000 pounds of food scraps and wood chips into compost for the restaurant's herb garden!
