Scouting America Troop 406 Plantation Troops 406 B and G are units in the Sawgrass District of South Florida Council. We have a youth-run program! We are sponsored by First Church West of Plantation.

We currently have Troop 406 B for male participants and Troop 406 G for female participants. Troop 406 is a unit in the Sawgrass District of South Florida Council. We have troops for male and female youth ages 11-18. We meet weekly during the school year on Wednesdays at 7:00PM at the Lauderdale Lakes Moose Lodge. Troop meetings are 2 hours long and are used to review Scout skills, plan scout ac

tivities and have fun. Troop 406 is a youth-run troop with elected Patrol Leaders and Senior Patrol Leaders. We use the patrol method, where groups of scouts work together within the scouting program to learn responsibility, teamwork and leadership. A Scouts BSA troop contains a much wider and diverse spectrum of levels of maturity. We have young new scouts, and mature scouts who, in reality, are not kids anymore but are young adults ready for transitions of their own. The older scouts' role within our troops is to help teach the younger scouts the skills needed for rank advancement. Here at Troop 406 we work under, and apply the Scout oath, law, motto and outdoor code to all our activities.
