Thor fact and b’day wiggles!!

Zoey Ann’s foster dad sent these photos of Zoey Ann celebrating Thor’s birthday with a wiggle waggle!

Did you know that Thor was born with so many genetic issues that FIVE vets told us to euthanize him? They would not sell us a feeding tube kit and allow us to try to help him live. FIVE! Well… to those five vets… our five year old baby boy says, “You miss out on 100% of the opportunities you do not take!”

Halo and Pikachu are having pupcups in honor of Thor’s 5th birthday!

It’s not everyday that a dog turns 5! Fun fact… Thor is the only dog who has been a Farmily member with us since the day of his birth! We will be sharing facts about Thor all day today!

Now I know deep down in my big Thor heart that all of you have been waiting for my special day to participate in $5 Friday! I just want you to know how much you are appreciated. It makes my heart swell when I know you read our stories, and then share them with your friends and family. It is wonderful to know how much you care about my friends, what Mom does and me. We love having you as part of our Farmily.

Speaking of Farmily. Wanted to let you know that the Danes did not use their beds as chew toys. Apparently, they were just right for them. They are happy because of you all. Your help always helps my friends. Now let’s talk Halo. She is giving Mom more grey hairs than the Kitten Manager. She had so many bad days, that Mom had to take her to see Dr. S. Personally, I think Halo just missed Dr. S and wanted to see her. She has had several better days, and she wants to know when we are having birthday cake. Needless to say, her appetite has returned. Just so you know, I told her she only had to ask if she wanted to see Dr. S.
It’s that time of the year that we need short-term fosters with the Holiday. Mom put a post out with the dates. If you have been unsure about fostering, this may be the time to try. Give it some thought.
Well, I’m going to go pawty with my friends and then we will have birthday cake. Thank you for joining me for my 5th Birthday.

HALO OUR LITTLE MIRACLE❤️‍🩹🙏🏼

We are leaving to go back home with Halo and get her tucked in to the oxygen chamber.

Halo has been really sick the last few days and this morning at 4:30 things got pretty bad. To be honest with you I was scared today would be a rainbow bridge visit because she was not looking good.

Her blood work came back normal except for anemia. She has been coughing up and throwing up anything she’s tried to ingest or drink so she’s been on fluids and we’ve been chopping up food in a tiny bit so she could keep it down.

Her throat does have those sores that she is susceptible to getting due to her autoimmune issue. We think because of the excessive coughing things up, she has a bleed in her throat, which could be what is causing the anemia.

Her chest x-rays actually looked OK which blew our minds out out of the water because she has had so much problems in the last few days, and it looked like she was struggling to breathe. It turns out the main reason for her struggle is in her face, nasal passage and her throat. It is a huge relief to know that her lungs are not shutting down and that she does not have pneumonia again!

At home, Halo has been receiving subcutaneous fluids, been in the oxygen chamber, taking in Nutrical, eating very small amounts of food that are chopped up tiny and receiving breathing treatments regularly.

She is going to start doxycycline and prednisone. We are cutting her immunosuppressant back, continuing with the medication that we compound for her throat sores, and giving her an appetite stimulant. We have been going through IV bags like crazy with her so we were able to get a few bags from Harmony. Dr. Sabshin wants to see her in a week to recheck her CBC so she is scheduled to go back on 4th of November.

Halo is at Harmony Vet Care about to have bloodwork and X-rays. She’s been doing bad this last few days and at 4:30 this morning she got worse.

Koa loves exploring as much as the next guy, but he’s soooooo happy to have fresh cut grass now!

We usually mow every week but the riding lawnmower quit working (twice) and the push mower is what we classify as deceased...

Thank you Dale and Amy for always looking out for us and spending your Sunday afternoon bringing your equipment over to mow and w**d eat! We appreciate you SOOOOO much! 🥹😍🙏🏼🐾
