Today, we celebrate Juneteenth. It’s a powerful reminder that freedom, while delayed, could never be denied.

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom, marking a pivotal moment in our nation's history. Juneteenth stands as a testament to the resilience, strength, and enduring hope of those who persevered in the face of injustice and helped shape a brighter future for generations to come.

Together, we honor the past, celebrate the present, and help create a more inclusive future.

Thank you West Windsor Plainsboro High School South for inviting AAPSG to participate in your annual scholarship awards program for 2026 and congratulations to all the award winners! Our President, Brandi Briz Grove, was honored to present two scholarships to WWP HSS seniors at their program on Wednesday, June 3rd.

For more than 35 years, AAPSG has awarded scholarships to exceptional students based on academics, character, vision, passion, and a deep commitment to community service. Our 2026 winners beautifully demonstrated through their essay and actions how their leadership has left a lasting mark on our organization and the wider community.

We could not be more thrilled to announce seniors Aidan Edwards and Meadow Boateng as our 2026 scholarship winners. Congratulations and we wish you success as you venture onward to college. Keep striving for excellence in all you do!

Barbara Flythe, one of AAPSG’s founding members passed away late last year. She was 91 years old. The organization simply would not exist without the dedication, courage, and vision of Barbara and her fellow co-founders. What they accomplished over 41 years ago in the WWP school district continues to impact lives today.

Today, we thrive because of the incredible foundation she and the other cofounders helped build. We are honored to carry her legacy forward. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.
