Randy Satz Announces the Launch of the Satz Music Legacy Foundation to Support Young Musicians
Pittsburgh, PA – In celebration of , Randy Satz, legendary bassist and owner of HULA Bar and Grill, proudly announces the establishment of the Satz Music Legacy Foundation, this will be a new nonprofit dedicated to fostering the next generation of musicians.
The foundation will provide scholarships for music lessons and musical instruments to students aged 5 to 17 who demonstrate a passion for music but lack the resources to pursue their dreams. Inspired by the spirit of Make Music Day Pittsburgh, the initiative aims to encourage young talent and ensure music remains accessible to all.
Randy Satz, a Buffalo, NY native and seasoned musician, has spent decades performing and cultivating live music scene alongside his son, Brandon Satz, a gifted drummer who began his musical journey at just 10 years old. Together, they transformed HULA Bar and Grill into a vibrant live music venue, and now, they seek to give back to the community that has supported them.
The first set of scholarships will be awarded at Make Music Day 2026, with further details on eligibility and applications to be announced in the coming months.

Founded in 2025 by Randy and Brandon Satz, the Satz Music Legacy Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young musicians through scholarships.

Come out to Greenhouse Co-op Cider and plant this Saturday June 21st to celebrate music. Greenhouse Co-op is one of Make Music Day Pittsburgh Sponsors and favorite place for Jazz music. 3-4pm with Thanakarn Limtham 4-6pm with Vicky Davide and Jazz Improv Session any musician is welcome to join and come to. To close out the night an amazing player Eli Langholt will be sure to set the sounds for the end of the night. Come out and support this great shop and taste some Cider and maybe leave with a house plant.

Come celebrate music with us Brighton Music Center The New Brighton store will be hosting this great event, Instrument Petting Zoo for all ages. Come check out instruments and experience music. Come Celebrate Music with us at Ross Township on Saturday June 21st. We will have free ukulele lessons with Steel City Ukuleles as well as a performance by them. In between we will be hosting a jam for anyone with a ukulele. Come out and Jam with us. 4-9pm. Free Water to Anyone that Comes! To Close out the night we will feature any student musician that would like to perform at our open mic/stage. All of the audio gear will be provided. Stop out.
