North Hills Cares Board member Lori Salvatore Saul and her husband Mike celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary over the holidays. In lieu of gifts, Lori and Mike requested that guests donate food or gift cards for local families. Thanks to their generous friends and relatives, NHC was able to provide $750 worth of groceries to the food distribution program at North Hills Christian Church. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to one of our favorite couples! 💕

What a weekend! ✨ We just want to extend the BIGGEST thank you to everyone who helped make A Community of Music 2025— and everything we do at North Hills Cares— such a beautiful success.

Tonight’s the night! We’re so excited to welcome everyone to A Community of Music as we open our weekend of performances, community spirit, and giving. Stop by, enjoy the music, and help us support local families through North Hills Cares.

Bring along a few non-perishable items if you’re able, and join us in filling the sleigh for our annual holiday food drive, which helps stock our pantry through the winter months.

🎟️✨ Our raffle baskets are officially packed and they are overflowing with goodies from some of our favorite local businesses! This year’s lineup is truly incredible, and every ticket helps support North Hills Cares and the families we serve. 💛

We have 20 baskets valued at over $200 each, plus 3 premium baskets worth more than $500 — all filled with experiences, treats, and surprises you’ll love.

🎶✨ We’re just about ready for two days full of music, celebration, and community at A Community of Music!

Friday, 6–9:30pm
Enjoy an incredible night of performances from local school ensembles, chamber groups, jazz bands, and more. It’s a wonderful showcase of the talent in our community, all gathered to support our Fill the Sleigh food drive.

Saturday, 10am–3:30pm: Kids’ Day
Start your morning with student performances, then stay for free family activities all day including games and crafts, letters to Santa, instrument demos, temporary tattoos, a scavenger hunt, and more.

At 3pm, don’t miss the Community Drum Circle led by Matt Price— everyone can join in, and it’s a great way to finish the day together.

🎄✨ We’re only ONE DAY AWAY from A Community of Music, and that means it’s time to start gathering those non-perishable, family-sized food items to help us FILL THE SLEIGH! 🛷❤️

One of the easiest ways to give? ALDI at The Block Northway is open until 8pm on both Friday and Saturday— and it’s literally just steps away from the festivities! You can pop in, grab a few items, and donate on the spot. 🙌

And don’t forget: you can make a HUGE impact without spending a lot. Our graphic shows 5 hearty canned items for under $5! We’re thrilled to highlight the incredible young musicians from School of Rock Wexford, joining us on Saturday, December 6th! Their creativity, hard work, and love for music shine through in everything they do, and we’re grateful they’re bringing their talents to this year’s A Community of Music.

Whether it’s rocking out on instruments, sharing vocal performances, or showcasing ensemble pieces, their students always bring enthusiasm and heart. We’re excited for the community to experience everything they have in store!

We’re so excited to welcome Miss Ing for a Family Dance Party at A Community of Music on Saturday, 12/6 at 12 PM! Get ready for music, movement, and the kind of joyful energy only Miss Ing can bring. 💛💃

We also want to give a heartfelt congratulations to Miss Ing Kalchthaler, recently named the 2025 Shaler Area School District Distinguished Alumnus (Class of 1989). Miss Ing was recently honored during the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony at SAHS, recognizing a lifetime of leadership, kindness, innovation, and community impact.

As Superintendent Dr. Brian O’Black shared, “Miss Ing’s lifelong dedication to literacy, learning, and community engagement embodies the very spirit of a Shaler Area Titan… We are proud to honor her as a Distinguished Alumnus and celebrate the impact she continues to make on our community every day.”

We couldn’t agree more. We’re so proud of who you are and all you do, Miss Ing, and we’re grateful to celebrate you this weekend. 💛✨
