Blessings From Above is proud to share the success of our recent back-to-school initiatives supporting students and families in our community.

On August 15, 2026, Blessings From Above hosted a free bookbag giveaway from 2:00–4:00 PM at the Hill District Library. Families received bookbags filled with essential school supplies to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.

We continued our efforts on August 19, 2026, by donating bookbags filled with school supplies to Weil Elementary School for its Back-to-School Night.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to UPMC for generously supplying the bookbags and school supplies and for your continued support of our organization and community.

A special thank you to:

* Sam Kane, MBA, Director of Food and Nutrition at UPMC Shadyside
* Simone Frerk, VP, EVS / Executive of Food and Nutrition, PUH Administration
* Tim Sweitzer, Senior Director of Food and Nutrition
* Joshua Cope, Executive Chef of Culinary Events
* Dr. Kira Henderson, Principal of Weil Elementary School

Your generosity, leadership, and support helped make these events possible and allowed us to provide essential school supplies to students as they begin the new school year.

Blessings From Above is grateful for every partner and supporter who continues to help us make a positive impact in the lives of children and families in our community.
