🕊️ **May Peace Prevail on Earth** 🕊️

What a special morning at South Park High School!

After more than a year of planning, approximately 50 students, administrators and Rotarians gathered to dedicate the South Park Interact Club’s Peace Pole.

The pole carries the words **“May Peace Prevail on Earth”** in English, Dari, Spanish and Nepali — the four most-spoken languages in the South Park School District. One of my favorite moments was hearing students share the word **“peace” in more than 10 different languages.** Different voices. Different languages. One message. ❤️

Thank you to Superintendent and fellow Rotarian Wayne Gdovic, Interact sponsors Tracee and Mike Surovchak, our Interact President, and Assistant Governor Lisa Hurley for sharing what peace, Interact and this project mean to our school and community.

As Rotarians, we can open doors and provide opportunities, but ultimately, **it is this generation that will decide what kind of community and what kind of world comes next.**

We ended the morning sharing a light lunch sponsored by the school — a perfect ending to a project more than a year in the making.

So proud of our Interact students and everyone who made today possible. ❤️

🕊️ **May Peace Prevail on Earth.**

Harvey Hess Memorial Golf Outing Brings Family and Community Together for a Great Cause!

The Rotary Club of the South Hills welcomed golfers, friends, family and community supporters for the annual **Harvey Hess Memorial Golf Outing** at Butler’s Golf Course. With beautiful weather and a wonderful turnout, the day was a fitting tribute to Harvey and a celebration of community, fellowship and giving back.
Making this year’s outing especially meaningful, Harvey’s wife joined more than 20 members of the Hess family, who traveled from across the United States to attend and support the event. Surrounded by family and presented with flowers, her presence made the day an especially touching tribute to Harvey and the legacy that continues in his memory.
Golfers enjoyed a full day on the course along with **skill prizes, raffle baskets and a 50/50 drawing**. The **Rongaus foursome** captured the top spot in the tournament and then made the generous decision to **donate their winnings back to the cause**.

One hundred percent of the profits from the outing benefit **Myron Cope Charities through Merakey Allegheny Valley School** and the **Judy and Joe Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund**, allowing the impact of the day to continue long after the final putt was made.

The Rotary Club of the South Hills extends its sincere thanks to the Hess family, golfers, sponsors, volunteers, local businesses and everyone from the community who helped make the outing a success. **It was a beautiful day of golf, remembrance and generosity—and a wonderful example of what can happen when family, friends and community come together in service.**
