Pratt Foundation

Pratt Foundation Toward the Prevention of Breast Cancer About 80% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history.

Pratt Foundation's goal is to eliminate a Breast Cancer diagnosis before it gives birth in the body by the implementation of Genetic Testing. Genetic Testing is a procedure we call 'Before the Lump'......or........ "Prevention."

1 in 8 women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer per year and 1 out of 5 women die. Genetic Testing is used primarily for the detection of hereditary Breast Cancer and about

20% of women diagnosed with Breast Cancer have family history. Studies show Genetic Tests have found several nonhereditary mutations (abnormalities) that link to Breast Cancer which could benefit the 80% of women diagnosed. Pratt Foundation will corner the market in Allegheny County by making Genetic Testing for Breast Cancer routine care. With the help from donations and grants, we will accomplish our Mission to provide funding, toward the Prevention of Breast Cancer to every underserved women in Pittsburgh, "One Life At A Time."
