Pittsburgh Tomorrow

Our team had a great time at The Longest Table Pittsburgh this weekend! 🧺💛 This community-led initiative brings neighbors from across the city to the table to share a meal and conversation. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful fall day in Pittsburgh to bring people together. And yes, there was a longest cookie table.

💛A walk down memory lane, across a few bridges, and through their hometown.

Our Pittsburgh Homecoming guests explored our Culture Crawl over the weekend. Ten cultural partners across the city and beyond offered free tickets, and they used them everywhere from Phipps Conservatory to the 59th Carnegie International to a Buccos win at PNC Park.

We wanted them to have the warmest possible welcome back. A special thank you to every partner who helped us do it.

What happens when 19 artists across different mediums come together for one event?

Thank you to Kevin Kirkland and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for spotlighting the local talent behind "Pittsburgh, Tomorrow: A City on the Rise."

We wanted visionaries of sound, movement and animation to tell a story while our guests mingled and celebrated together

Hussein Pwono aka DJ pvkvsv and composer Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh set the soundtrack. Attack Theatre dancers gave it shape. Johannes DeYoung built a motion tracking system that turned movement into a digital painting. Animations from the PA Expanded Animation Alliance filled the space, blending with the dancers' silhouettes in shadow box performances. It was a night to remember, and a fitting finale for StartUP PGH

We were proud to showcase a powerhouse of local talent.

Read the full story here:

As a Central Catholic High School student, Hussein Pwono was more into drawing than music. The Highland Park native didn’t discover his talent...

🌳 We’re putting down roots for the future! Students in the Pittsburgh Tomorrow Leadership Corps headed to Emerald View Park over the weekend to plant trees with Tree Pittsburgh , Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy , and Western PA Conservancy 🌱

After getting to know each other (this year’s Leadership Corps cohort hosts students from 22 regional high schools!), they learned how to plant and protect saplings, spot poisonous plants, and manage rough terrain. These trees will stand as a landmark for the students and for our inaugural Pittsburgh Homecoming weekend.

Know a student who’d love this? They can join the PTLC on our website today!
