Everyone who has an interest in wild mushrooms is welcome to become a member. Activities include regular meetings, proje

cts centered on mushrooms, and walks and forays. There is no better way to learn mushrooms than to join a mushroom club. We hold nine informative meetings a year and this year we are going to have eighteen mushroom walks or forays to help you learn about mushrooms. The cost is $15 for an individual, $20 for a family membership, and $10 for a full time student. Print the Membership Application and send it in with your dues to receive discounts on club events and mushrooming materials.

WPMC members can earn recognition for building their identification skills — starting with the 10 Species Button and working their way up through 25, 50, 75, 100, 150 and beyond! 🏅🍄

The program is all about learning: getting to know our local fungi, practicing identification in the field, and challenging yourself to recognize more species as your mycological knowledge grows. 🌲🔬

UPDATE: 🍄 Join WPMC on Tuesday, August 18 for our monthly meeting on entomopathogenic fungi!

Our speaker will be WPMC Mycologist Cara Coulter. Cara dives into the eerie and fascinating world of entomopathogenic fungi — species that infect and manipulate insects, turning them into spore-dispersing vehicles before killing them. The talk covers key genera like Cordyceps and Ophiocordyceps, how these fungi work, and where to find them in the wild. Cara is an enthusiastic WPMC member with a talent for making fungal biology accessible and compelling.
