The University of Pittsburgh's Community Engagement Center (CEC) in Homewood is a 20,000 square foot multi-purposed space that acts as an active bridge to the University of Pittsburgh and the Homewood and surrounding communities. We have a long-term commitment to the Homewood neighborhood with a minimum 15-year promise of infrastructure, staffing, and intentional coordination in neighborhoods. Imp

CEC on the Road has been going strong this summer! We were excited to welcome Dr. Catherine Rebitch from the Pitt School of Pharmacy, along with PharmD students and Justine Fang, dietitian, and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, during our on-the-road visit.

University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence are now accepting applications for the Community Power to Prosper (CP2P) Program, with classes beginning July 15.

This no-cost, 6-month certificate program is designed for established small businesses, particularly those located in underserved communities within the city. Ideal participants are:

• In business for at least 1–3 years
• Have at least one full-time employee
• Generate approximately $25,000–$200,000+ in annual revenue
• Looking to strengthen and grow their business

Please note, applicants will be vetted prior to acceptance, and this program is not intended for start-ups. If you have a client you’d like to discuss, I’m happy to connect.

Classes will be held in person at the Pitt Community Engagement Center in Homewood, every other Wednesday from 8:30–10:30 AM (see attached for full details).
