On the morning of Saturday, August 13th, 2016, Brookline Boulevard will be closed to traffic as hundreds of athletes will take part in the 35th Annual Brookline Breeze 5K Run and Fitness Walk. Citiparks, the City of Pittsburgh’s Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Brookline Breeze Committee host this 5K run and walk. Following completion of the race, Brookline Boulevard will remain closed to traffic between Stebbins and Glenarm Avenues for the Brookline Breezefest.
The Breezefest is a street festival where our business district will play host to a food truck round up, children’s activities, a stage with live music, and arts and crafts vendors. The sidewalks on Brookline Boulevard will be lined with vendors of arts, crafts, food, entertainment, and a variety of other displays. Admission to the Breezefest is free. Several of our local businesses will also have specials for the day.
The Breezefest is hosted by the volunteers of the South Pittsburgh Development Corporation (SPDC) and the Brookline Chamber of Commerce (BCC) and it could not be possible without the contributions of our other generous sponsors: Farmers Insurance, Rohrich Chevrolet, Brookline Area Community Council, and Community Bank.
