Thank you, Immaculate Conception Church, for welcoming us to speak at Masses this weekend, for your prayers, and generosity!

🌎✝️ Bringing Faith, Education & Opportunity to Honduras.
This weekend, our second collection is for the Olancho Aid Foundation as they join the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Global Mission Appeals.
The Olancho Aid Foundation has been serving families in rural Honduras for close to 30 years, offering inclusive Catholic education and life-changing opportunities—especially for youth with disabilities.
Please be generous — Give if you’re able. Pray always. 🙏

Today, Honduras celebrates the teachers who do far more than teach a lesson. They guide, adapt, encourage, and walk alongside students through different realities and learning needs.

At Cardenal Institute and Nazareth School, we are grateful for every teacher who helps students learn, grow, and discover what they are capable of.

Happy Teacher’s Day! 💚

Discover Honduras, before it was Honduras. 🇭🇳

September 15 is more than a celebration, it’s a reminder of the history, cultures, and generations that shaped the country long before independence.

Today, that story continues through student parades, music, flags, traditional dress, and communities celebrating together.

Who are the palillonas? 🇭🇳

During Honduras’ September 15 Independence Day parades, palillonas (also known as bastoneras) are student performers who accompany school marching bands with coordinated routines, uniforms, and baton movements. Their performances are one of the most recognizable traditions of the country’s patriotic celebrations and often require months of practice, coordination, and discipline.

Here are some of Cardenal Institute’s palillonas carrying that tradition forward. 🇭🇳

In Honduras, children and adolescents make up more than a third of the population, and about 14% of children live with one or more functional difficulties. At Nazareth School, we celebrate every child’s right to learn, participate, communicate, and belong.
