The Run Around The Needs Volunteers

The Run Around the Square (RATS) returns on Saturday, August 22, at 8:15 AM, and volunteers are needed for a few hours that morning to staff water stops along the course and help monitor street barricades on Charleston, LaClair, Milton, Overton, Richmond, and Sanders.

If you live on or near one of the race streets, volunteering can be as simple as spending part of the morning at a nearby barricade to help make sure it remains secure. If you'd like to see more of the race, volunteer at a water stop and cheer on the runners as they pass. Volunteers are encouraged to have fun with it—some even serenade the runners with their musical talents or dress up in costumes!

Run Around the Square has been a Regent Square tradition for more than 40 years and is one of Western Pennsylvania's best-known community races. Proceeds from the race are returned to the community through support for local organizations, including the Wilkins School Community Center, Frick Environmental Center, Regent Square Civic Association, and others.

Please consider giving a few hours on the morning of August 22. It's a fun way to be part of a longtime neighborhood tradition while helping both the race and our community.
