The Mortgage Bankers Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania is the regional association representing the real estate finance industry. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, MBA-SWPA invests our communities by ensuring the continued strength of the residential and commercial real estate markets; expanding homeownership and extending access to affordable housing to all Americans and supporting financial literacy efforts. We promote fair and ethical lending practices and foster professional excellence among real estate finance employees through a wide range of educational programs and a variety of publications. Our member companies, include all elements of real estate finance: mortgage companies, mortgage brokers, commercial banks, thrifts, life insurance companies and others in the mortgage lending field. The objective of this association shall be to foster, advance and promote the interests of the mortgage banking industry and to improve its service to the community by furthering, in the Association's service area, the objective of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America are as follows:
Encouraging intelligent legislation affecting the business. Acquiring and disseminating information regarding the mortgage finance industry. Securing uniformity of practice where uniformity is desirable and not against public policy. Affording opportunity for those engaged in the business to secure the benefits of personal acquaintance and interchange of ideas, both by individual contact and public dissemination of information and event.
