On July 15, the brought together a packed room to explore how regional universities can help Pittsburgh-area organizations advance their sustainability goals.

Representatives from Chatham University, Duquesne University, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Pittsburgh highlighted opportunities to connect with faculty expertise, student talent, research centers, capstone projects, innovation programs, and workforce development initiatives. Koppers also shared how they manage successful university partnerships to support innovation and advance their sustainability goals.

Members of the network had the opportunity to tour the Eaton Power Systems Experience Center in Warrendale, PA and learn how electrification, digitalization, and resilient energy infrastructure are shaping the future of industry.

The group heard from the Eaton team about the company's sustainability goals, energy strategy, and approach to grid modernization and operational resilience. Attendees also explored real-world applications related to microgrids, data centers, EV charging, utility substations, solar rooftop systems, and energy management through a series of interactive demonstrations and guided experiences.

The Allegheny Mountain Malt Sustainable Sip-Off made the final picks count.

Eleven regional breweries brought their best, showcasing beers brewed with locally sourced, regeneratively grown malt. With the Draft in town, it was the perfect time to highlight the strength of our region's brewing community and its connection to the local food system.

Congratulations to our winning brewers, and thank you to all participating breweries and everyone who joined us and cast their votes.
