The Law Enforcement Officers Memorial pays tribute to Law Enforcement Officers from Allegheny County who made the Ultimate Sacrifice. The memorial includes the names of Officers who served in Allegheny County as well as Officers who grew up in Allegheny County but lost their lives elsewhere.

Recently Approved LODD

We have recieved confirmation from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund that Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Lieutenant James L. Stokely, who died on June 8, 1877, due to complications of a gunshot wound on February 23, 1876, while attempting to arrest cow thief in East Liberty was recently approved as a Line of Duty Death and will be honored in Washington DC at the Candlelight vigil on May 13, 2027.

Lieutenant Stokely will be honored this December during the Fallen Heroes Wreath Program. You can read more about his story and sacrifice on his memorial on the Officer Down Memorial The Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP).

The Law Enforcement Officers Memorial of Allegheny County would like to thank everyone who volunteered and participated in the Fallen Heroes Wreath Program for Allegheny County this year to remember our fallen Law Enforcement Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice we cannot do this without our volunteers to help get this done every year.
