Rooted in Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, Freemasonry makes good men better.
šŸ“ 35 West Prospect Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 in 1872 is a brotherhood of men committed to personal growth, moral character, and service to others. Rooted in tradition yet grounded in modern life, our Lodge brings together men from all walks of life—fathers, sons, tradesmen, professionals, veterans, and leaders—who share a desire to live with purpose and integrity. Guided by the timeless principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, we strive to support one another as equals, care for those in need, and continually seek self-improvement. Within our walls, titles fade and character matters. We meet on the level, work by the square, and part upon the plumb—building better men so they may strengthen their families, communities, and future generations. Freemasonry is not a shortcut to success, nor a social club without substance. It is a journey—one that challenges a man to reflect, grow, and hold himself accountable to higher standards. Through ritual, fellowship, mentorship, and charity, Freemasonry exists to make good men better. Located in the heart of Crafton, Pennsylvania, our Lodge proudly serves the surrounding community while preserving a legacy passed down through generations. Whether you are a Brother, a friend, or a man seeking something more meaningful in life, you are welcome to learn who we are and what we stand for.

It is with profound sorrow that Crafton Guyasuta Lodge No. 513, F. & A.M. announces the passing of our esteemed Brother, William Joe Winstein.

A faithful Brother Master Mason, having completed the designs laid upon the Trestleboard of Life, has answered the summons of the Grand Warden of Heaven and Earth and entered that Celestial Lodge Above, where the Supreme Grand Master of the Universe forever presides.

Brother William Joe Winstein
Born: March 10, 1950
Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason: January 22, 2008
Entered the Celestial Lodge Above: July 10, 2026

Brother Joe will be remembered for the quiet example he set, the friendship he extended, and the Brotherly Love he shared with those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his earthly labors have come to an end, the lessons of his life and the memory of his character will continue to inspire those who remain.

As one by one the autumn leaves fall in the forest deep, so too must each of us answer the call when our own labors are complete. Yet as each new morning brings forth the beauty of a new day, we are reminded that the soul endures beyond the darkness of night, sustained by faith and the promise of eternal light.

May the Great Architect of the Universe receive our Brother into His eternal care. May He grant comfort and strength to Brother Joe’s family, friends, and all who mourn his passing. Though we grieve his loss, we are grateful for the time we shared with him and take solace in knowing that death is not the end of our Brotherhood, but only a parting until we meet again.

The attendance of our Brothers, as we gather to pay our final respects and fulfill our last solemn duty to our departed Brother, would be greatly appreciated.

We ask that you continue to keep Brother Joe’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

ā€œSoft and safe be the earthly resting place of our Brother. Until we meet again in that House not made with hands, eternal in the heavens, farewell, dear Brother. Your labor is complete, your wages are received, and your memory shall remain with us always.ā€

There is something about the sound of fireworks that reminds us of cannon fire…

A reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today were not given, they were fought for!

Long before America became the greatest experiment in liberty the world had ever seen, ordinary men made extraordinary decisions. They left their homes, embraced uncertainty, and pledged not only their fortunes, but their lives and their sacred honor to a cause greater than themselves.

Many of those men were Freemasons.

Not because Freemasonry sought power, but because it taught character.

It taught that a man’s word should mean something. That truth is worth defending. That every man is equal in the eyes of God. That liberty carries responsibility. And that no society can remain free unless its people choose virtue over selfishness.

Brother George Washington stood firm when defeat seemed inevitable, leading a weary army through unimaginable hardship until freedom was won.

Brother Benjamin Franklin used wisdom instead of weapons, securing the alliances and support that gave a struggling nation hope.

Brother Paul Revere rode through the darkness so others would have the chance to stand and fight.

Brother John Hancock signed his name with courage, knowing that one stroke of ink could become his own death warrant.

These Brothers were different in their talents, but united in one purpose—to leave behind a nation where future generations could live free.

Today, the rockets’ red glare no longer signal a battle. Instead, they remind us that someone else fought that battle for us.

As Freemasons, we are called to continue their work. Not on the battlefield, but in our homes, our Lodges, and our communities. We preserve liberty by building men of integrity. We strengthen America by serving others, keeping our promises, defending truth, and living lives worthy of the blessings we’ve inherited.

Freedom is not just protected by soldiers on distant shores.

It is protected every day by good men who choose honor over convenience… service over selfishness… and brotherhood over division.

May we never forget those who signed, those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who never came home.

May we strive to be the kind of men they hoped future generations would become.

From our Masonic family to yours, we wish you a safe, meaningful, and blessed Independence Day.

Happy Independence Day from Crafton Guyasuta Lodge #513.

May God continue to bless our Brethren, our Armed Forces, and the United States of America.

A man wasn’t meant to walk through life alone.

He was meant to stand beside good men. Men of honor. Men who keep their word, take care of their families, give back to their communities, and aren’t afraid to make themselves better than they were yesterday.

That’s what Freemasonry is all about.

No matter your profession, your background, or where you came from, if you’re a man of good character with a desire to grow, there’s a seat waiting for you.

The world doesn’t need fewer good men. It needs more of them.

If you’ve ever been curious about what it means to be a Freemason, don’t spend another year wondering. Reach out. Ask questions. Meet the brothers. See for yourself what has inspired men for generations.

Ask One to Be One.

If you know a Mason, ask him about joining. If you don’t, send our page a message. We’d be proud to sit down with you, answer your questions, and show you what true brotherhood looks like.

Your legacy starts with one decision.

Today, Crafton Guyasuta Lodge #513 proudly recognizes the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures whose strength, sacrifice, and guidance help shape future generations.

A father is often a man’s first example of honor, responsibility, hard work, and integrity. Through his actions, he teaches lessons that cannot be found in books and leaves a legacy that extends far beyond his years.

Freemasonry has long taught the importance of family, virtue, and leading by example, qualities that fathers strive to embody every day. Whether by blood, adoption, mentorship, or simply by being present when it mattered most, fathers help build the foundations upon which strong families and strong communities stand.

Today we honor those who have carried that responsibility with humility and dedication. We also remember the fathers who have passed on, whose lessons and influence continue to guide us.

From all of us at Crafton Guyasuta Lodge #513, we wish every father a Happy Father’s Day.

May your day be filled with the love, respect, and appreciation you have earned.

šŸļø Brothers of Crafton Guyasuta Lodge #513,

This Friday, June 5th at 7:00PM, our very own Widows Sons chapter — the Sidonians — alongside our brothers of the Tyrians, will be presenting at Rochester Lodge #229.

As members of Crafton Ingram, this is something we should take pride in. Our lodge is helping grow something bigger than ourselves — building stronger brotherhood, stronger charity, and stronger representation of the Craft outside the lodge walls.

If you’ve ever wondered what the Widows Sons are truly about, now is the perfect opportunity to come see it firsthand. And if you already know what we stand for, then come out and support your brothers as they represent not only the Sidonians and Tyrians… but Crafton Guyasuta Lodge #513 as well.

Brotherhood isn’t just spoken about, it’s shown through support, participation, and standing beside your brothers when it matters.

Let’s show up strong. šŸ”„

Today, we pause not for celebration, but for remembrance.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder that freedom was purchased at the highest cost by brave men and women who laid down their lives for this nation. Their sacrifice gave us the opportunity to gather with family, enjoy fellowship, worship freely, and live as Americans.

As Freemasons, we are taught the values of honor, duty, brotherhood, and service to others. Today we remember those who embodied those virtues to the fullest extent possible.

May we never forget the fallen.
May we live lives worthy of their sacrifice.
And may we continue to stand united as Americans, neighbors, and Brothers.

From all of us at Crafton Guyasuta Lodge #513, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.
