Scouts, Start Your Engines! 🏁

Scout Night at the Speedway returns on Saturday, August 8, 2026!
Laurel Highlands Council and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway are once again teaming up for an action-packed night of racing, excitement, and family fun.

Here's what you can expect:
✅ Scouts in uniform are admitted FREE
✅ Discounted tickets for parents and leaders
✅ Packs and troops can participate in opening ceremonies
✅ Select Scouts will be chosen to wave the green flag
✅ Youth can participate in the annual Kids Bike Races during intermission (helmet required)

Gather your scouting friends and get ready for a night of horsepower and adventure at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

Day Camp is in full swing at Settler’s Cabin 🏕️ ⚜️

Today, a contingent of 29 Scouts and their families from the LHC traveled across the state to Harrisburg to participate in the annual Scouting Report to the State.

From educational tours and meetings with State Representatives and Senators to sharing the impact of Scouting with elected leaders, our Scouts represented our council with pride and professionalism.

A special congratulations to Max of Troop 150, who led the press conference, and Lyla of Troop 9065, who proudly led the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Thank you to all of the Scouts, leaders, and families who made the trip and demonstrated the values of Scouting throughout the day. We are proud of the outstanding representation of the Laurel Highlands Council at our state capital!

Eagle Scout Project Spotlight 🦅

Congratulations to Eagle Scout Ellesandra "Elle" L. of Troop 9444 and the Aviation Trails District!

Elle recently led 21 volunteers who dedicated nearly 320 hours to construct four new raised flower beds for the community garden at Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Zelienople. The project will help expand the garden's ability to provide fresh produce to those in need, building upon the more than 800 pounds of food donated by the garden last year.

Although she was initially nervous about leading such a large team, Elle rose to the challenge, successfully planning and directing the project from start to finish.

Even more exciting, the new garden beds have already been assigned to local gardeners for the current planting season and are already making a difference in the community.

On June 2, 2026, Elle completed her Eagle Scout Board of Review, becoming the second Eagle Scout from Troop 9444 and the first Eagle Scout in the newly formed Aviation Trails District of Laurel Highlands Council.

Special thanks to Lowe's, Home Depot, 84 Lumber, Gump Gardens, Questeq, and the many family members, friends, and volunteers who helped bring this project to life.

Congratulations, Elle, on this historic achievement and your commitment to serving others!
