On Saturday, August 8, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Smith family welcomed over 600 community members, including over 370 children to the 13th Annual The Jessie Games held in honor of the memory of Jessie Egan Smith. The event brought families together for a day of games, activities, and community connection, raising $52,000 for Catholic Charities' youth enrichment programs, while distributing over 300 backpacks filled with donated school supplies to help local children begin the new school year prepared and confident.
"We are deeply grateful to the many volunteers who made the day possible, as well as the Himalayan Foundation-USA, Literacy Pittsburgh, and the Smith family's friends and supporters for their generous partnership.," said Angie Zambito Hill, Chief Development & External Affairs Officer, Catholic Charities. "Their time, energy, and compassion helped create a memorable day for children and their families. We'd also like to thank our many sponsors and contributors for their incredible support that made the day a tremendous success."
