First practice in the pool for 2026 summer!

I understand the pricing may be confusing for you all. With some thoughts, you can do the original price that I laid out and it’s recommended to buy a pool pass or you can opt in with the $10 drop in but you must pay me every time you come.
Original Pricing:
$90 @ first child
$60 @ additional children in family
$50 ransom per family (refundable after obligations)

Drop in Pricing:
$10 @ child each time attending practice or meet (must pay Maria upon arrival)
$50 ransom per family (refundable after obligations)

Everyone must still sign up with our QR code if you haven’t already. The end of year picnic will be $40 per family (this includes 2 kids and 2 adults) with an additional $10 per family member under the age of 3. This covers entrance to the pool.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 10th, I will upload a copy of our schedule and meet sign-ups. I will also have all paperwork with me at the pool for you to fill out return as soon as possible. Email with Questions or Concerns @ [email protected] See You Soon! :)

YeeHAW! KO Kraken Families,

It is time to get excited! The KO summer swim team will start Monday, June 8th at 5:00 PM. Sign Up If You Haven't Already!!

Practice will be held from 5PM – 7PM, Monday through Friday, at Dormont Pool. We may have a bonus in July, but let’s see how the summer splashes out! The daily practice schedule is as follows:

- 5PM – 5:45 PM: New families/ Beginners
- 5:45 PM – 6:20 PM: The whole team
- 6:20 PM – 7PM: Advanced swimmers

If you aren't sure which group your swimmer(s) falls into, please ask away!

We will also have a parent meeting on Monday, June 15th to discuss the team, the league, and what it means to be a part of our swim team community from 7-7:30PM in the parking lot. I will also meet parents in the parking lot next week from 4:15- 4:45 PM and 6:30-7PM (no advanced swimmers).

Pool Entry and Passes:
Please note that parents cannot enter the pool area unless they have a pass or pay $5 at the gates. KO Kraken swimmers should tell the cashiers they are with the team; the cashiers will keep a tally in their system and charge $5 per swimmer per entry. Swimmers who have pool passes can simply scan and enter.

It is highly encouraged that you buy a pool pass. You can purchase them here: https://boro.dormont.pa.us/dormont-pool-season-passes/

If you purchase a pass, I will knock off half of your parent volunteer fee. Rates are as follows:

Resident Rates (Green Tree; Dormont):
- Resident Child (ages 3-17): $85
- Resident Adult (18+): $105
- Resident Family: $185

Castle Shannon Resident Rates (Half price via Rec Share Program):
- Castle Shannon Child: $42.50
- Castle Shannon Adult: $52.50
- Castle Shannon Family: $92.50

Non-resident Rates:
- Non-resident Child/Adult: $150
- Non-resident Family: $295

I can't wait to spend the summer with you! I am here if you have any questions or concerns. See you next week!

P.S. I will work on getting a full pool schedule to you as soon as I have it.

Did You Hear the Cannonball, Too?

I hope you are all enjoying the start of the spring season and the weather getting warmer!

I have attached multiple flyers regarding our Tuesday/Thursday clinics. These sessions are designed to prepare our swimmers for summer. Please note that participants must be able to listen and follow instructions within a group setting as I am anticipating a big group. We also offer Sundays: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM (Kids) and 9:50 AM – 10:30 AM (Adults) with the same curriculum.

We also have the following sessions available:
Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays: For swimmers who can complete multiple laps consistently. Wednesdays are specifically dedicated to strength and movements that relate to other sports as well as our designed swim workout of the week. To qualify for these sessions, swimmers must be able to complete multiple laps without a flotation device or grabbing the wall.

Please keep in mind that all proceeds go directly back to supporting the kids.

I have also attached our summer flyer. We are still finalizing some of the details as we want no school vibes, but we are looking forward to another great season with our amazing and remarkable Krakens!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. We also encourage you to continue recruiting more Krakens to join our community!

What a FIN-tastic Season for Our Krakens! 🐙 💚💙💜

This Year, Success Meant SO Much More Than Times on The Board or Top 3 For Small Team. We Saw Personal Bests, Swimmers Growing as Individuals, Teammates Lifting Each Other Up, and a True Sense of Family In and Out of The Water. The Belief These Swimmers Have in Themselves—and in Each Other—Has Been Incredible to Watch and Coach; Even on Those Hard Days when Swimming Gets Boring and Rough.

I’m SO Proud of All They Accomplished:
🏅 Medals Earned Through Hard Work and Heart
🌊 7–8 Year Old Small Team High Points
🏊‍♂️ Brand NEW Team Medley Relay record (not pictured!)
⭐ 3 Athletes Achieving A Cuts in Individual Events (Not All Pictured!)
🦑 Breaking 36 Seconds in Events (Not Pictured but Get a Complimentary Yard from Our Bank (Dollar Bank)

And Wrapping Up September to March Season… We’re Head Over Heels for the Party That Celebrates All of Our Strengthens! 🎉

This Season was Special—but We’re Still Here!

Keep An Eye Out For Tomorrow’s Post About Our Spring Clinics and Lesson-Based Learning Opportunities so You Can be a Strong Kraken!
