Dozens of transit riders showed up today to speak out against the Downtown TRID proposal: a plan that would divert tax money to private developers, with minimal investment in public goods—and almost no public process. All eyes are on City Council to see how this vote plays out. Check the link in our bio to watch the Council hearing recording.

Turns out it's actually really fun to measure concrete sidewalk pads when you do it with friends ❤️‍🔥 PPT members hit the streets in Hazelwood this week to audit sidewalks for potential new bus shelters and pedestrian improvements. Findings went straight to the City of Pittsburgh so they can use them to fast-track pedestrian upgrades.

Join in for the next audit in the Hill District, August 22nd! https://www.mobilize.us/ppt/event/972441/

Tired: Trafford Borough trying to eliminate PRT service from all its streets ❌

Wired: Trafford residents speaking up about how important transit service is in their community 🤩

Give it up for Kris, Julia, Debbie, and Joan (not pictured) for fighting to retain their service! They know that bus lines are life lines, and Trafford can’t afford to lose them.

If you live in Trafford, tell the Trafford Borough Manager what transit means to you, and urge them not to cut it. Email [email protected] !

PPT members all across Pittsburgh and beyond are fighting to build a transit system for all! Our member Evelyn has been at the forefront of our work to make sure that Pittsburghers can easefully use transit no matter what language they speak or where they’re from. Together, we’ve shown that fully funded, truly accessible transit systems are lifelines that get us to medical appointments, work, school, and more. Will you join Evelyn in this fight by becoming a dues-paying PPT member?

You can join for just $2.75—the current cost of a PRT bus fare! That money goes directly towards advocacy for a transit budget that moves ALL Pennsylvanians—whether they live in big cities, or smaller boroughs and towns.
