Hats off to these AMAZING swimmers who toughed it out in the CITY OF STEEL this past Saturday!! The current was a tough one, headed from the north of Brunot Island in the Ohio, out to the Hot Metal Bridge in the Monongahela. Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen (2017/2023/2026) and Peter (2024/2025/2026) for completing their THIRD 3RMS!! Both Stephen and Peter, along with Judy Caves and Christopher Graefe, make up FOUR swimmers who have completed the 3RMS TRIPLE…

‘BUT DARREN, WHO WILL BE THE FIRST TO COMPLETE FOUR?!’ Only time will tell😎

First and foremost, this is OUR race in OUR beloved city. Without the help of the following, the 3RMS simply wouldn’t be possible:

Greg Furer, for being our ‘steady as she goes’ es**rt pilot (since 2013!!) aboard the iconic ‘Mingler’…

Judy and Norm Caves, for opening their home and providing dinner, year over year, for our race banquet…

Corey Berkey, for having assisted his third year, as an es**rt pilot, watching over our swimmers…

Pittsburgh River Rescue/Pittsburgh Police, for being our eyes and ears on the water, in case of any emergency…

With tens of thousands headed back to the FOREVER FUND over the years, it has been my mission to keep this race at the same cost, year over year, since 2013!! This race has been, and always will be, an amazing opportunity to participate in a globally recognized ‘marathon swim’ in a tough environment. It’s Pittsburgh ~ we wouldn’t have it any other way❤️

As always, should anyone like a copy of our Annual Report on the Forever Fund at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, I am more than happy to provide it!
