Carpatho-Rusyn culture was defined over the 250 years from the founding of the Greek Catholic Church until the creation of Czechoslovakia. Church developments became integral points in the defining of Rusyn culture. The church divisions of the 19-20th centuries not only defined faith but contributed to the incredible divisions religiously and ethnically in the community on both sides of the Atlantic. Add to this the economics of the times and immigration and you have a story of a people struggling to be who they really are!
Part III: Unprecedented Upheaval (Sunday, Nov 9, 2025 02:00 PM Eastern).

No period of Carpatho-Rusyn history saw more upheaval than the 20th century in Europe and America. The creation of Czechoslovakia, WWII, the advent of communism and its fall, and the revival of Rusyn culture created a scenario that positioned the Carpatho-Rusyns for the dramatic rebirth they had and their optimistic future!
